  • Peedie update

    On the mainland
Loan is getting another 10 off today so will be at £80 or so - counting down til its paid woo hoo
Kids still en france - home on Tuesday of next week - massive woo hoo's - I am sooo bored of being on my own (aside the willows and the doggies)
Done my summer field work - need to write it up
Off to Aberdeen today for an assessment of needs and to ask lots of scary questions
    Chums for Tea
WTFC seem to have changed - (gone up?) so need to know what's going on with that must phone today
At OH's house which needs major decorating - he's now the proud owner of a clean flat cos we organised a cleaner to start in April (SIL) so the house is looking very sparkly - so now tackling the sofa which hasn't been washed in 3 years, sorting out stuff for the dump - and finding bits and bobs to fix/change/repair things

Got some paint for the door and battled my way past hte overgrown holly (OUCH!!!!) into the garden after tackling it with a pair of secateurs - grass needs cutting too and now I have enough shrubbery for a peedie bonfire.

Need to restock the stripey socks shop in the garage - store cupboard - we just have used so much less of somethings - (I have enough rice to still feed a small planet) but need to stock up on things like stardrops, cereal, stock cubes and all that jazz. Still have 3 boxes washiing powder and 4 bottles of fabric softner - so seems like I am not great at working out how much we actually use.

    Fun guessing though :)

Might even be brave and phone my mother later as I am actually passing the door where she lives - if you knew me - you'd know how scary a prospect that is - but it would be rude not to go in and say hello I guess - can't remember when I saw her last - maybe a year ago maybe longer.

We are as close as two planets in different universes...........

Hey Fay, congrats on the books, the wedding plans and everything else! Looks like things are looking up.

I was listening to 'Just a minute' on Radio 4 the other day and one of the topics they had to talk about was 'What's in my fridge' - if only it had been 'What's in my freezer' you would have won easily, I'm sure you could talk about that for quite a while, I thought of you and it made me laugh!

I could indeed win a competition like that

I also have 15 different samples of grasses in my freezer too - from the grass course all in lovely freezer bags and labelled - incase I need them for ID purposes :)

Makes sense - and an excellent accompanyment for blackbird surprise:rotfl:

Ooh, good luck with your assessment Fay, and your mother if you decide to go! And woo hoo - 13 days left on the loan?? How marvellous! What's up next?? Think how much you'll have if you manage to save at the same rate as you've paid the loan off! :)

Your hypothetical wedding sounds marvellous indeed :):) Just the sort I'd like myself :) However, I have no useful advice at all on whether to go ahead or not :)

Mr Daffs once said "I'd marry you if you wanted me to, but I'm not really bothered", which he'd apparently said to both previous long term girlfriends, lol! Pretty much sums up my attitude to the whole thing too :) So you just do what feels right...
  • Mr Stripes attitude is very similar to Mr Cheery daff's. Although he is a confusing one - I swear he is the actual girl in this relationship.

I guess the whole boy panic thing about being 40 is to blame!

Pips Mum - you is very norty! thanks for the card and wee gift gorgeous!

  • Assessment kinda wiped me out - that and a long drive - up again to Aberdeen on Wednesday and will take the train.

Lady who assessed me lovely - mid thirties discovered she was dyslexic - trained to help folks get the assessment of needs they really require. Quite a moment talking to someone who just understood completely.

Funny seeing her fill in the form - schooling ??? she says

Um primary or high school I says????

    Both she say and university

    UM OK........

    9 primary schools
    2 high schools
Left school at 16 after highers (moved up at school)
Bailed out of university at 19 couldnt cope
    Went back
Ran away again and got married
    Found flowers
    Did more practical courses
Then another degree - nearly ran away again.............but didn't that time
    etc

very very odd seeing someone write it all down - poor woman she used a small forest to write it all up :)

Wonderful girl - much appreciated and thanks

Away to an appointment with a paint brush :)

Ooh, Fay, glad you managed to talk to someone sensible at last! She sounds like a marvellous woman :) And your schooling, good grief!! That supervisor of yours needs an extra huge slap particularly considering how much you've been messed about, and you still got to a PhD! Well done you :)

And that loan... shouldn't we be on 12 days now?? ;)

    Have a lovely day :)

    Morning Daff

    Updated loan :) ta

Schooling um - father in the forces - whilst I wouldn't usually use it as an excuse to slap my supervisor - OK then just for you!!!!

Shame he's 300 miles away though (*NOT) - waves to Daff :)

PS more importantly - kids back in Scotland on Monday night and home on Tuesday - sorely tempted to stay down an extra couple days and pick them up at Ed airport as a surprise. Means I can see them a whole day early but they then need to take a ferry home rather than fly.

BUT means that ex hub will have bought two air fare tickets to Orkney for the kids that won't be used and can't be refunded if I do that.

And that would be very very very naughty.

Talking to the kids about their *preferred option*

Great news on the dyslexia support woman! And the air tickets!!! Naughty! Orkney was on the news yesterday, about Skara Brae and the coastal erosion going on ..... hope you're not going to get swept into the sea in the gales....
2023: the year I get to buy a car
  • I was thinking about moving to a cottage by the sea for the next house - our current lease is up in 1 year.

NOTE to self avoid house too close to beach - :)

Look at that loan!!! Way to go!

Great news on the assessment - how long til you get the full report?

    Enjoy the painting and scheming!

I'm off work poorly and watching very crap TV. Think I'll get the videos out soon.
