Urg how did you get on?
Laughing at the OH experience its the opposite way round here - he's from a large catholic family
I run from family like the road runner - not my thing
Should be interesting-
Fingers crossed for you
zzzzzzoooooomy noises and a big .......MEE MEEEP
I'd like to say well but I am not sure - I am getting a bit worried and frustrated. I get the interviews for jobs at this level but can't seem to get the job.
The wedding is already getting stressful. My aunt stuck her beak in - she's trying to warn my mum off doing what I want because it'll be too much for my mum (mum's been in hospital this year). Mum was great - she told my aunt that I will get what I want. How dare my aunt but in!!!!!!!!
There are times when OH's idea of running away to Vegas would be great -but I really want my family there. I also want to make sure that I don't have regrets my mum did as she did not have the religious(sp?) ceremony nor did she have her parents there when she married.
BTW - well done on those credits. See - you do know what you are talking about! Maybe it's someone else who doesn't!

((((urg))))))))))) you stick with what you want! It's your day!

Fay - I completely forgot that my own evil supervisor has just spent a week in Orkney staying with his friend in Kirkwall! (!!!!!!!
). You cold have, er, well, he could have got a bit too close to Darwin or something while he was there if I'd have remembered - d'oh!
I sent him some work yesterday - he responded by saying thanks, telling me he was too busy to read it til next week (fine by me), and sending me a picture of a puffin
Sometimes he's not all bad!

OMG maybe both evil supervisors were staying together :eek::eek:
Darwin does have problems going into gear at the moment, one sort of wrong move and perhaps I might accidentally sort of knock someone down by accident.
I am also lethal with a quadrat!!!!!Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Urg - hmm thats not great and I agree with Daffy - its your day me dear so Urg please lovey make sure its all how you want it. Tell yer aunt to keep her beak out - I do have a beak pruner I can send you..........:)
On the stripey wedding front .............Houston we may have a problem.
I will lose £8k working tax credits a year - until the kids are grown (4-5 years) I might lose upto 40K - - we are having a financial meeting to 'discuss' the options.
Ideally in the land of romance OK its not a biggie - its only money.
In the land of reality however - losing potentially £8k a year because of getting married - tbh - as gutted as I am - its a blow we really need to consider financially.
We more than likely WILL not be living together (although I am working on that) so all it will mean is my income drops - OH compensates me for this and we as a 'unit' are financially penalised for marrying.
However, I would argue if we marry and in reality we won't really 'need' that money ie - his income will compensate for it then my moral concious plays up cos I am inherently (besides a few tiny misdemenours- honest) a good girl and have a high morality (morality as apposed to mortality!!!). Therefore those who need it more should have it.
We are going to pow wow it over the week we are together.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Hey Fay, congrats on the books, the wedding plans and everything else! Looks like things are looking up.
I was listening to 'Just a minute' on Radio 4 the other day and one of the topics they had to talk about was 'What's in my fridge' - if only it had been 'What's in my freezer' you would have won easily, I'm sure you could talk about that for quite a while, I thought of you and it made me laugh!0 -
sorry to hear about the spanner after we worked so hard finding a location and a 'time of year'. I'm sure you'll sort it out but it's best to know these things so it's not an unexpected shock after you get married.0

Hi
Cheery Daff and Fay - thanks! You are right - I will do what I want - I usually do anyway. I just get annoyed that other people feel it's appropriate to try and have their way on mine and OH's day!

Hi Faye my dear. Hope all is well with you. Quick gardening question. I have got 2 blueberry bushes. 1 is massive and looks really healthy and has grown loads but it has never given me any fruit. The other is dwarf and has also never given me any fruit. They are in ericacous (sp) compost.

hi fay, hope all is well with you. hope you've had a good weekend0
-
Morning all from sunny 'sooth' on the Scotland mainland place with the trees.
Waves to all a bit closer at the moment
Unix - hope you are OK dearie? Wedding very soon ????
L - odd they haven't flowered - have you fed them or given them some fertliser - they do indeed like ericaceous compost - how old are they?
Waves to LT - still in negotiations with OH - we went to the secret location on Saturday on the way down the road.
I am still arguing via the plan for the autumn - and stamping my stripey little foot. Morally I am opposed to being dictated too about things to just save some money - but 8K is a bit of a blow. Although if you think about everything we have saved since joining the threads and boards at MSE - I certainly feel so much better off financially.
LT I think our planning was very good - so am still pursuing the options
Married in the woods - autumn if possible, wedding outside humanist service - wellies compulsary on the RSVP - group photo of said wellies
Small buffet type thing with Orkney and Perthsire fare - chef friend offered to do this for me
Rent a lovely large cottage/house for the week - have several close chums stay over for the weekend - I love house parties they are my favourite things - where you all stay and have food, natter, drink tea and go for walks - then all natter in your pj's in the morning again - bliss!!!!
Have a buffet type wedding thing at lunchtime then say cheerio to some folks before going back into the normal jeans and jumpers for a steak pie tea with everyone and an relaxed informal 'celidh' i can never spell that word. I know lots of chums who play various instruments so that would be fun.
Lovely wood fire type house informal gathering thing til the wee sma hours and then a slap up full breakfast in the morning (2 other chums great at that so will ask them) - big walk in the woods and then everyone can b**gger off!!!!!Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
