Oh, love those textiles. I'm such a textile fan. I was in Bali this year and my friend couldn't stop laughing at how much I bought. He keeps joking about my Textile Emporium that I must have opened.

Really gorgeous modern prints. And they're on Etsy too so I've just added them as a favourite.

CONGRATUATIONS on the wedding decision. Sounds very exciting.

I'm sure you can have a fabulous MSE wedding. I'm a veteran of many a wedding (not married myself though) and indeed of the bridesmaid world and so many of the touches that expensive just get forgotten about.

I think you can have a fab individual wedding without spending a fortune if you are really clear on the budget and stick to it.

Personally I would say that a photographer is worth the money as it is great to have lovely photographs of the day that are good quality (ie in focus, well lit, good poses etc etc)

And also well done on allowing evil supervisor to travel to Shetlands unharmed....clearly you have moral highground!!!
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)

Congratulations on the forthcoming stripey nuptials:T. That must be at least three mse weddings coming up soon - brilliant!

Shame it can't be held in Orkney but there are loads of fabulous places all over Scotland so shouldn't be too hard to find what you want.

Re Alchemilla mollis, I planted two plants five years ago. It has selfseeded all over the place including the gravel driveway. It is threatening to take over my heuchera collection(all 5 of them). I have spent the last two days digging up some of it and potting up other selfseeders - a carex - can't remember which one - and Onopordum Acanthium - love it and if I could get away with it would have a garden full of it and nothing else but far too spikey to have around children. Didn't realise just how self-spreading it was when I first put in two of them either. After all my digging I probably still have at least twenty plants growing and spotted more seedlings popping through in the veg patch. DH was giggling earlier as I keep complaining about it getting everywhere and yet won't pull up the seedlings until they are at least 4 inches high just in case I do want to keep them.:o

Finally found a localish shop that sells Orkney fudge. They only had one left as the girl behind the counter said she had eaten the second last one this morning but they get it in quite regularly:j. DH and I have already eaten that one but it means i know where to get the essential ingredient for my Orkney fudge cheesecake yum yum.

yay to soppy stripy weddings! it appears that the virus is spreading. I too have managed to find an OH (albeit at the top of a mountain but still!) and he lately has been wearing stripy socks and is a rock/biker boy! so yay to everything.

I think we are probably more likely to argue for britian rahter than tie the knot to be honest.

He thinks its time he made an honest woman of me - um - that may take a fair bit of engineering as I have been overly naughty in my time :)

Waves to the rest of you - just back from the beach after working til 8pm at open evening and tucked into bed with a laptop and a very sandy peedie pup......all this talk of peedie campers, stripey socked men (old and new) and frugal wedding type events.

I told OH today I wanted to get married in a hot air balloon (after he couldnt stop laughing and said something about hot air and my mouth - he told me to look into it - i was only joking:rotfl:)

    Main contenders are:

Ellie lady's tower by the beach (Fife)
    Hermitage (Perthshire)
Ring of Brodgar (orkney - I know........)
Yesnaby (Orkney - again I know......)
    Italian chapel (see above)
    My garden (see above)
My chums lovely garden in highlands
Cambo garden with the snow drops out (free flowers I thought?!) (St andrews)
My fav beach in St A
    Steel waterfall - glen nevis
Top of ben nevis (by god there had better be a helicopter involved)

but who knows - he wants family, I don't want my family (except my kids) - we can't agree on anything......hee hee
