Sad about £5K but happy smiley things re your marriage. When I married DH2 I had to give up my £35 pw widows pension and that was a big decision for me:eek:......but it was worth it in the end.

Will OH move up to live on your island or are you still going to commute:D:rolleyes:

And yes....my hat is wooly...it matches my stripey gloves and scarf.

OH doesnt want to live here - I won't move for 5 years so we are currently locked into negotiations a bit like ACAS (?? or whoever they were ) and the miners during the strikes. It would make a great film, two red heads in one relationship - niether very good at giving up or backing down.............might call it 'The attack of the freckles' or something :)

I was hoping to get Felicity Kendall or Meg Ryan to play me in the movie - or maybe Julia Roberts - she's got long enough legs to wear the socks to perfection......... OH hmmm he'd probably be played by Hugh Grant as my ultimate revenge as he hates Hugh Grant :) something else for us to 'discuss' or he could be played by Jack Black (they share several characterisitics together and they both play guitar outrageously) - we watched School of Rock and the kids and I burst out laughing and asked OH why we didn't know someone had made a movie about him..........his guitar lifestyle and his life of general chaos - he was NOT pleased :) kept us chuckling for days

We discuss things alot - and then generally end up doing our own thing seperately :) or sometimes together.

MP - Glad DH no 2 is lovely.

I metioned to OH - he might like to recompense me for my lost WTFC - you might have heard the laughter from where you are :)

He's a mechanical engineer in industry - I am a toe nail painted sandal wearing environmental flowerist self confessed tree hugger

To be fair we could easily be the arch nemisis for each other :) somehow or other it works

  • Oh and of course we look ridiculus together :)

    I am <5ft - he's >6ft

I must dig out my platform wellies or find a box to stand on :)

    Congratulations :j:j:j
  • Fay, you do make me chuckle. My youngest is covered in freckles, plays the guitar and thinks Jack Black is the funniest thing on the planet..should I be worried ?

Congratulations on deciding to take the plunge. We'll all wear our finest stripey socks on your big day :):)

I bought DD the stripiest most gorgeous pair of tights for winter yesterday, she was overwhelmed (I hope in a good way, lol). Wish they had that particular style in mummy size....

I have tried stripey tights - on grown up with legs of a reduced size somehow or other - um they aren't too flattering.

Glad DD liked them - my DD use to wear similar leg gear all the time until she gave them up and now only wears socks (sniff - I had to give away her stash of stripey leg gloves as she use to call them)

Cheers KK - the dirty deed will indeed require many pairs of stripey socks :)

OH has started wearing very tasteful (BUT STRIPEY) socks and cheekily shows me them now and again like a small boy giggling.

    Very silly boy.

Waves morning - awa' to the land of Shetland later on - um need to pack - runs out in PJ's

Ta for all the lovely thoughts :)

Well.........OH went from school thinking he was going to be a guitar hero - I think he was actually 'asked to leave' - did a stint in a famous supermarket empirre as a trolley boy (no qualifications from school) and had a blast being a trolley pushing/rock god for about 7 years.:rotfl:

Age 25 he returned to work place and decided to go to University out of the blue.

One first class honours degree later - he's doing OK, has an incredibly satisfying (and decent salary job) and plays killer guitar. OH likes to do things his 'own way'.

So am sure the wee one will be fine.:D:D

Freckles on other people I find quite appealling although on myself I often attempted to wash them off with force - only resulted in sore skin, a few scabs and bright new shiney freckles underneath:rotfl:

  • That's all reassuring :) The 'own way' comes with the freckledom I think.

As for the washing off of freckles, yep been there had the conversations and the scrubbing. Thankful he didn't try bicarb or stardrops though.

Oooh, a stripey wedding! :):) How very jolly :) How very annoying that OH won't move to Orkney though, how could anyone possibly not want to live there?? <tut>

Mr Daffs has embraced the idea of marvellous stripey socks too :) He too is a rock god (!), and I find it very amusing that under the cowboy boots is a pair of knee length black and red stripey socks :):)
