Ow, Fay, there's some biggies in there, between the aftermath of your bro, the supervisor, the meeting, the potential of the freezer. Deep breaths are certainly indicated, lots of positive vibes to you so you can keep on juggling and keeping all those balls in the air.

    Hi Fay

I've been lurking a bit recently. You've been through lots!

It must have been really difficult to put in the complaint - I hope you get the outcome you deserve - to provided with the support you need.

Good luck with working on the writing.

All the best Fay! I'm sure you will come out of it with something worthwhile, one way or another!
On a different note, my partner came home yesterday from a few days away with work; at his hotel he watched a bit of TV (we don't have one at home) and saw a trailer for Hugh Furry-whatsisname planning to cook up some slugs. Could this be the way forward? Don't really fancy it myself although apparently all garden snails are edible so I suppose it isn't much different; never really liked snails though.

By the way I forgot to say hi Taka! There seem to be a few life scientists on this thread - do we all have the same problems?

although I prefer my idea of making elderflower cheesecake tommorrow more than cooking slugs and snails.
I did this week however come across a resturant than is currently serving Fillet of beef with english snails

Snails.....Hmm, maybe. Slugs though - no way! Ugg- to slugs - uggy sluggy. Yuck!

*Waves at Fay* - it's truly all happening in your world at the moment isn't it - have you gone to somewhere deserted and had a good scream? Honestly - scream, jump up and down (a cross between  and :j) and stamp your feet. Have a good cry if that works for you. You will feel about 100 time better for it and no harm done to anyone. Response to Brother "No - I don't ask for anything normally, do I - I am now though as I simply don't have the resourses to be able to cater free of charge for guests who turn up with no notice whatsoever!" How about suggesting that he and the GF come back to you for a week later in the year sometime? Offer them a bed and breakfast for a week in exchange for some bits brought from the mainland for you and them buying a couple of takeaways / dinners for you all in the week they are there maybe? I'm sending you ~positive vibes#~ anyhow and have my stripey socks on today in the hope that stripes can work remotely. I'm in a fantastically good mood so they must be having some effect somewhere anyway. ;) As for the superviser - maybe you should consider KissJenn's aproach - it involves tin-foil and a thunderstorm......or a mains current in the absence of helpful meteorological conditions.......in case you've not seen her thread. Well done on doing the complaint anyway - it sounds like he'd been well and truly deserving it for a while and if it stops him attempting to ruin anyone else's future and career then it has to be a good thing.

  • Oooh off to have a look at Kissjen's idea of therapy.

I agree with KC FAY, deep breaths, spend time with the children and chill. Have a nice weekend.x

Nope. I've had all the excitement I can take, seeing Patrick Stewart yesterday! A quiet day, I plan not to step over the doorstep except to prune the plants lining the front path :)
