I think marrying in the garden, maybe near a willow tree would be lovely :happylove
As for charity shop etc, one of those eco journalists wrote once that one of THE best things we could buy that would be green, would be a needle and cotton for mending our clothes. We are SO wasteful about clothes, chucking stuff that is perfectly useful & wearable. So charity shops are very helpful in making this country more ecological, and Primark is the opposite end of ecological-ness. (not that I'm above shopping in Primark ahem)

People are so rude or indecisive, when I go to look at a place, I know very soon whether it's a goer or not and tell the agent straightaway.
An ex boyfriend of mine used to own a house that he rented out to a Domme, and used to visit her as well - £150/hour to be chastised......wonder how much kit I could get into my spare room, lol.
Note to self- must think of easier ways to make up my budget shortfall thanks to the ex withdrawing maintenance.....0 -
Statement of Affairs and Personal Balance Sheet
Have done this - additional information is:
PhD Student - so no council tax
Have additional income for another month or so of £350 (b and b person) ends in about 6 weeks and not sure I want the hassle of it again. But not sure???
Live on an island so no access to any cheaper telephone/internet
No family/childcare here so difficult to do any work other than at home
Looking after a large 6 bed house for a pal - one room rented out for a year as a bedsit (its in extra income) one room is b and b
Also have very large floored private space in attic - needs a bit work though
Haven't included 2 cc's as I use them for my food, petrol etc expenses so they are paid in full every month
Havent included overdraft.

Any help glady taken!! Away to start a spending diary/budget thhing in excel
Hope my comments make sense. I'd keep going with the B&B as at least its a source of income. What about the attic, can you make use of that somehow?CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0 -

yours too??? ex withdrawing maintenance? SOrry I know its none of my business - what on earth is that all about - honestly some times the things I hear about most folks on their own makes my blood boil.
Do they send them from charming husband school to the school for the depraved when they leave?????

We have all low energy bulbs and we have an energy owl - to be honest bills gone up dramatically since the bandb person arrived - he sits playing xbox with his heater plugged in on full - its really annoying. - so i changed his heater for a halogen one that Andan recommended. SO that has helped.
Its a big house -
Lodger b and b chap is great but the increase in my food spend ( I have to make breakfast and 2/3 course meal at night) makes it so much extra on the food, I find I am spending more cos I am feeding a bloke really I guess. Thats why I am undecided about the extra income of it. Food has crept up etc
I could always move upto the attic and rent out my room too - we have two upstairs rooms with sinks, prob is its an old house - only one bathroom - and with the kids etc I have to be really careful who i get into the house.
Great ideas though.
Clothes are almost always from charity shops
Pressies I am going to look at that site ta - xx
Mobile - 2 contracts one is nearly up - ones brand new - I go away alot for work and am out in the field alot so I need a contract phone I think ?!Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Well, it's not 100% withdrawn, just unlikely (grrr) ....and I only found out when I asked for more from him to help with the nursery fees increase that isn't covered by tax credits (just under £10 so they're not helping out the winkers!). I asked for a cost of living increase as he's paid the same since he left, and he said that he was skint and being taken to court/going bankrupt....aaaaaargh!!
By my calculations I now have nearly £200/month less than I need......
Oh well, I managed when he first walked out, was on £100/week maternity allowance with no job to go to, it's nearly 4 years now, just fed up of every time I think I'm getting somewhere, something pants happens
Here's hoping for a lottery win/rich boyfriend to take me away from all this, lol. Actually I'd settle for a lovely boyfriend rather than the not so lovely men I seem to always meet, lol.0 -
Fay this is a good thread from the OS board about saving pennies:-

I still have a [STRIKE]hideous[/STRIKE] ? better word? challenging time with ex - we went to csa eventually and because he had left us and moved into the evil vet ones house (whilst her poor ex husband was on his way back from clearing mines in Cambodia (I kid you not) ) So the poor bloke arrived back onto the island to try and sort things out, my hubby in his house, with his wife, driving HIS car.
Anyway csa awarded me £5.11 for each kid - cos he was the man - he was seemingly responsible for the kids in her house before his own ones - she was the main bread winner, that didnt count somehow? After he moved in with her he quit his job and worked for her for nothing - so no income - like I tell myself - daddy is a bit silly sometimes.
One parent families scotland were my salvation, they helped me out. BUT of course when he moved to France - they can't enforce it so we just don't stress about it any more - we can't rely on their help which is better than constant uncertainty I guess. google OPFS if you need them in Scotland there is a similar one in England One plus one?
Its so bloody blood boiling cos she was a vet, owner practise - sold the house and sold the practise and they are now retired in france running a farm/campsite. There are lots of photos of all the kids on thier website, I find it hard to look TBH.
Anyway's onwards and upwards - still vetaphobic - and we tick along, but we are happy in our current state of 3.
I have a nice OH now - he suffers cos of my lack of trust - poor thing, but he's really reliable - 300 miles away but really reliable.
sorry for the rants xxTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
