Maybe you could ask them to make sure the dog gets a healthy biscuit every day, and ask them to watch out for other kids feeding him stuff - it would make them feel involved and important, and most kids love that!
You could educate the kids a little whilst letting them enjoy having a nice relationship with your dog!
Really good idea, kids love to please & to feel involved, beware if more than one tho they WILL want a biscuit each to feed to the Dog lmao0 -
Just noticed the extra bit you posted "healthy biscuit everyday, and watch out for other kids feeding stuff"
What a great idea, I will definately try that thanks x£100 - £10,0000 -
I have the same problem ,my dogs are kept outside and a very kind elderly lady likes to give them treats ,I do not mind in the least as she loves dogs but because of ill health can not have one herself ,I solved the problem by giving her a bag of dog treats that I know are healthy and she uses these to feed them and only a few a day .0

Isn't that a little harsh and a bit over the top? maybe she doesn't think a plain biscuit will do too much harm and she probably feels sorry for the poor animal being stuck outside on his own all day.MaximumImpact wrote: »Sneaky cow!!
Not sure what to suggest really. Other than making the fence higher and putting some sort of spike strip across the top. Perhaps you could consult the CAB and see if there is some sort of civil action you could take against her.
I think you have done all that is reasonable and perhaps you should advise her that if her behaviour doesnt stop, you will be seeking legal action as it is causing you and your family distress. It seems to me that she is doing this deliberately and is aware of the problems it is causing.
Perhaps she has some Mental Health Issues????

AB you have my sympathy with your problem. People seem to think that by giving a dog a treat they are being friendly to the dog. My husband has battled for years with the general public who insist on giving titbits to his guide dogs (both who are now retired one aged 14 and one aged 10). The arguments that have ensued and spoilt nice evenings is unbelieveable. His problem is not only were the treats unsuitable for the dog (especially the younger one who is on a special diet because of a food allergy,) they were putting his life in danger. Why? Because if the dog recognised the person who was always giving them treats they could be more eager in getting to them than concentrating on the job in hand i.e. being a guide dog. He has even had people put beer in an ash tray (yes a few years ago) for his dog to have a drink, and people wonder why he gets mad. I do hope you manage to stop your neighbour feeding your dog because I know how frustrating it is for people feeding your dog titbits you don't want him to have and don't need. Good luck.0

Ahhh sorry i must be one of them who don't have a clue..... please tell me how to stay at home with my pup and still managed to pay all my bills, feed my child, clothe him etc, your obviously an expert or just plane insensitive.
It was obviously meant sarcastically, meaning someone can't just pack their job in, think you need to lighten up0
