That was my point really, you need to show them where this money has come from, and then there is no reason for them to withhold it.
You said earlier that the money was put into the Natwest also by cash deposits, they may wonder where it came from originaly.
I dont mean to sound unsympathetic, its just to have such large amounts of cash and not be working, or have any other income seems abit suspicious to the bank. So I can see why they did this.£100 - £10,0000 -
We didn't freeze it for no reason. The CFP referral narrative means something very specific but I cannot tell you because that would be illegal.
Yes, it's annoying. Yes, it sucks for you. But it is a duty - it will all be over soon, and if you have done nothing wrong, you have no worries. What would William Shatner do?0 -
someone doesnt add up in this post
You put all this money in to an account then take it out hmmmmmmFor everthing else there's mastercard.
For clampers there's Barclaycard.0 -
If you really did get this money from selling a property abroad` then you will be able to prove this so why are you so worried?
Is it normal to sell a property and be paid in cash? I would of thought you would get a cheque?
Where is all the rest of the money coming from that you are making cash deposits into your account with? you have already said you are not working.£100 - £10,0000 -
In your first post you sayI don't have any other savings or a job. This is all i had and it was for my credit card debts, personal loan and buying a small car
Is your loan or credit card debt with Barclays or one of their partners?
If this money was to repay your loan and credit card why draw it in cash?0 -

That is your answer - AML - like I told you earlier. If he told you then it's illegal so it equates to money laundering..... we knew that anyway I guess :TSome say he is a racist, others say he is a liar but the truth will always prevail...

Nah, not necessarily dodgy but maybe just lack of common sense may be the logical cause here. If the OP never knew this would be suspicious then to be fair that is kinda silly and I think she knows that and has learnt to be mre open with her bank in future :j
Why moan about what has happened? Its what she does next that matters and whether you think it sounds dodgy or not isn't really pertinent. Some say he is a racist, others say he is a liar but the truth will always prevail...

Why would the OP go to the police? What would the OP tell them?0

Now we know what the "likely" cause is we wouldn't recommend this action and the OP knows this - she is now going to work with her bank to sort the mess out by offering detailed explanations and providing receipts and proof! We hope lol :j
The police thing is way outdated - you're a few pages behind lolSome say he is a racist, others say he is a liar but the truth will always prevail...
