It's not the bots though that you need worry about, it is the vigilante users who report rule breaches.

In my opinion the phrase 'good old pounds sterling on collection is favoured' is more likely to get you reported as it looks like a clumsy attempt to get round the rules. Anyway, a spammer is going to want to pay by paypal regardless of what you put, and that's the main problem.

Lets hope so, either play by the rules you signed up for or look elsewhere. Buyers don't need to be forced into paying you cash, no doubt most would have paid on collection anyway

and why shouldnt i "force" buyers into paying cash?
it is my item i am selling and i am am not forcing them to bid on it but if they do i want them to pay cash so they cant fleece me in a couple of weeks time.....what is wrong that then?

  • im so p***** of with ebay.
i have had an item removed from ebay due to me wanting cash on delivery and asking people not to pay with paypal.
this is part of the email:

We appreciate that you chose eBay to list your auction-style listing(s). However, we have removed your listing because it breached our Accepted Payments policy. We notified members who placed bids on the item that the listing has been canceled.

    400028016913 - MACLAREN TWIN TRAVELLER DOUBLE/TWIN BUGGY/PUSHCHAIR

Why did we remove your listing?

Your listing(s) contains the following information:

    DO NOT PAY WITH PAYPAL!!!!

Sellers must always accept payment from buyers through the payment methods they have selected in their Payment Details section of their listing, including PayPal. They must not act in any way to discourage buyers from paying by one of the methods that they offer.

i know ebay own paypal but they do my head in with there stupid little rules. sah on pick up is better for me and better for my customer as they know they will definitly recieve it.
i have had someone get a refund off me ages ago through paypal after they picked the item up and 3 weeks later they said it was damaged and paypal refunded them!
also , there was only 3 days left on the auction so now ive got it in the house for another 2 weeks
im seriously thinking of leaving ebay

if you read it properly it makes sense. You probably left the Paypal option ticked at the bottom of the page in payment options and then told people not to use one of your payment options. If you relist it and remove Paypal as a paying option it'll probably work.

It won't let you do this, ebay force sellers to offer Paypal.

I had exactly the same email when i listed a bike and put "I cannot accept Paypal on this item".
Ebay removed it, and i was so angry i emailed them back and told them exactly why I had put this and their rules are silly.

I relisted and just put 'Payment on collection.'

I think this option is only available when listing cars though, as it is the one area where you dont have to use paypal.
