Rant Alert : Item Removed From Ebay
Comments

The issue surrounding collection items is one that ebay appear clueless about.
I've had a similar issue where the buyer insisted on paying via paypal before collecting and I refused and refunded. It was only when I explained how the scam worked did they see my point as they were just looking for the "protection" paypal offered.Terms & Conditions Apply0 -
As has already been said cars are exempt from the paypal requirement, as are other items listed in that category like motor bikes etc.
ALL other items must have paypal enabled, regardless of your feedback. Although for the sake of accuracy it is worth mentioning that there are some large shops (real ones like Dell) that are also exempt from using paypal, fair eh!
Actually though I recently came across a small private seller not showing the paypal logo anywhere, I have no idea how they did it but they did turn out to be problematic when goods failed to arrive in a usable condition after buyer sent a postal order. However with apologies I can't link to them as I don't wish to identify the account as it links back to a work colleague who did not want to post on here. I'm trying to find another even now but without any success.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I've just re-advertised something. Was originally on for 5 days and didn't get binned. I added this to the bottom.
Payment is cash on collection only! as this will be either collection only or delivered I'm not going to risk Paypal payments and somebody claiming to have not received it and me not being able to prove it. Although for some reason, 'because of my limited transaction history on eBay' i have to offer Paypal?? pretty sure i've got enough feedback and payments to say its not limited.. IF you pay via Paypal the money that hits my account will be refunded - ie minus Paypal fees. Like i said, i'm not risking being skanked by somebody paying by Paypal and then raising a fraudulent claim.0 -
Living dangerously eh
My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
I soon found your item and so will others, might be worth editing your post before it is fully quoted!scheming_gypsy wrote: »I've just re-advertised something. Was originally on for 5 days and didn't get binned. I added this to the bottom.0 -

The point is as you are in breach of ebay terms 'someone' will report you and you are making it easy.
Your feedback has nothing to do wuith it, paypal must be offered on all non car items.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. It's one way to guarantee no sensible bidder will bid. Any one with any experienc eof ebay will think this is either a naive seller at best, or dodgy at worst and avoid.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. look at it this way
i bid from my buying account, win & pay by paypal
you refund
i refuse to pay by any other method
you get a neg & pay listing fee's
most people collecting would pay cash anyway, especially if you contacted them after the auction
adversarial auction terms are just a red rag to some0
