Rant Alert : Item Removed From Ebay

you really dont know whats going on do you?
i know exactly what's going on and thanks for judging me but i don't care. It'll sell, somebody will collect and they'll pay cash.
If somebody wants to pay by paypal and then sulk it's not the end of the world, i'll have one negative feedback on eBay. My world won't stop, i won't get a CCJ or bankruptcy order; i won't be refused credit because of it and i won't have to walk around carrying a sign saying 'unclean' and world peace and famine won't be sorted if i have 100% feedback. It's eBay feedback, its not important.
The text states that if you pay by Paypal you'll get it thrown back at you as it's cash on collection only, it's not difficult to understand and if it stops people buying and trying to pay by Paypal then good!0 -
further to previous posts my item has just been won and paid by paypal by an unconfirmed adress even though i stated pay cash on delivery.
should i refund the money?mmmm free stufffffffff

Youve answered your own question. Ebay own paypal. By forcing sellers to accept paypal they avoid millions of complaints to trading standards about people paying cash, cheque etc and being ripped off. Paypal payments cover the buyer in full and avoid any legal disputes. Ebay would rather put out a few of its small sellers than received loads of complaints from its millions of buyers. They want to make as much money as possible and only want sellers that will conform to its policies, they are not bothered about the sellers that stop using them due to all the regulations as these sellers will probably cause problems for them in the long term.0

If you refund the money, then what?
If you read the posts on this thread you will have seen this was a possibility, unless you can very politely persuade the buyer to accept a paypal refund and pay by cash instead.
If buyer refuses to accept a refund then obviously you can still do it but then they just slam in a non performing seller complaint against you and leave a negative. Depending on your monthly feedback total a single neg and a warning might be enough to get you suspended.
Also, many addresses on paypal now are unconfirmed as assuming you were posting this item you no longer need a confirmed address to do so.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. As per this thread you can't. That's why many sellers have chosen not to sell items that require collection on ebay.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I think you have to post the item by trackable means to be covered so that you can prove it was delivered, ie, signature on delivery? Correct me if I'm wrong

I would send an email to the winner and say would you mind cash on collection and state reasons, offer to refund the paypal, i did this with an item and they were quite happyWould love to be a "Yummy Mummy" but more a "Slummy Mummy"!!:rotfl: :rotfl:0

Why not just put in an absolutely prohibitive postal cost, or free cash on collection.
If someone was daft enough to pay your (say) £100 postage charge, I'm sure you could arrange trackable delivery for any item for that price.0
