I suspect everyones thanks counts are taking a massive hit just now. She was fond of the thanks button which sometimes irritated me. There were a few times she thanked posters for comments made in a derogatory manner which i did not agree with. Although she never made the comments herself, thanking a poster that acts in this way is as good as.

I liked NDG the majority of the time, she was pretty level headed, and obviously well respected. I suspect she is already back under a different username, (Good tip is to watch the thanks boxes, you'll soon figure out who the new NDG is )

Getting personal and making threats against family though i agree is way below the belt.

Very sad. In many ways, I think NDG's approach was right - by talking openly about herself, she and others like her give an insight into other worlds, thus breaking down boundaries and ensuring - in the long-term - that we all get along. As a non-racist, she had no problems marrying someone Israeli and Jewish, so it quite possibly never occured to her that other people would be so racist as to threaten her child for it.

I do agree, Really, that for one's personal safety, some info should not be given, but hope this doesn't water down the interesting debates we have on here.

i was wondering the same as well. would it be worthwhile for this forums owners to look into criminal elements on this website using the websites resources (ie PM etc) to threaten other users especially the ones who help out on the website. it happened to genarali and now NDG, wonder how many others who suffered in silence.

would the boardguides please report this issue of criminal elements (threats of harm against family or anyone is a criminal offence) using the PM feature for their abusive activities. the board management should come down hard against such misuse of the forums features for harassing its users. this has already happened twice (generali and NDG as far as we are aware), if it was the same person then its two strikes now. two strikes is enough under the protection from harassment act for the police to tighten the screws on them. it would take a 1 second search for the management to search the sent / received messages for identifying the perpetrator and getting the needed evidence
