  • We've booked 2 weeks in South West France. We were considering Devon but having priced up both, France (including prime-time ferries) was £376 cheaper! That'll make up for the shoddy exchange rate.

We've been to Florida for the last 2 years plus Canada last year but that wasn't a holiday as such, we were visiting the inlaws. Last Florida holiday I came home pregnant so we'll be avoiding that this year :)

We will probably nip over to Canada for a week taking the baby to meet grandma who is now 94. Other than that it's saving saving saving this year so no holidays at all.

In 2007 I had several holidays. One was a week on the West coast of Barbados. We had a great time, went down in the submarine, went to all the beaches, drank lots of Mount Gay, etc. Fab.

One was a week in a huge manor house, three quarters of an hour drive from the house. 25 of us went, which meant that the cost per person was quite low. It was by far the best holiday we've ever had.

It's not the destination that makes the holiday, although it can help. It's the fun you have and the people you're with that matter.

I returned from a holiday in the middle east only a few days ago, where I had a great time. But the holiday I'm really looking forward to is three quarters of an hour away. The 25 of us who went before loved it so much that we've booked the big manor house again!
