I'm looking for a 22" one... if I want to play xbox games (eg FIFA, WWE etc) is it best to go for HD Ready, or pay an extra £20 and get Full HD?

I'm not sure what it means really..

On a 22", it would be amazing if you could notice the difference between HD ready and (higher resolution) full HD. For games, things like response time will be much more of an issue.

I was in Next Clearance store in Clydebank yesterday and they had lots of LCD TVs - mainly Samsungs with huge savings - don't know if all outlets will have them - my friend got a 42" Panasonic Plasma for the bargain price of £312 - they are boxed and have a 1yr warranty.
I went to two Next Clearance shops this morning, and the TVs they had left were not much of a bargain. As an example they had 26" Samsungs for £310, which you can get at several places online from £279. (Amazon are doing them for £289 atm.)
They had HD ready 32" Next brand ones for £280 with Freeview, and £240 without Freeview.

I have just brought a Sony Bravia KDL37S5500 37" TV from John Lewis for £479 (including a 5 year guarantee).

Looked around and this was the cheapest with the 5 yr guarantee. You have to trade in an old tv to get this deal though

i want a top picture quailty 37" LCD for watching lots of sport.

Does anyone know of a better deal than the
Toshiba XV635DB (1080P, 100hz) than can be picked up for £470 from amazon (with the toshiba £100 cashback promo)?

    thanks.
  • ebuyer.com has some decent deals at the mo for a range of screen sizes the make is Foehn & Hirsch. most people pay over the odds for name brand tv (like samsung) when the picture quality is no different. take a look these come with 3 years free warranty and free delivery. The second one is particuarly good as my housemate is buying a samsung full hd 32" for over £100 more when he really doesnt need to as the difference between full hd and hd ready is really only noticeable on large screens ie 42".

    22" HD ready £185

    32" HD ready £275

    42" full HD £460

Hi, just read your post, I was going to buy the Hitachi 19" Tv, refurbished for just £89.99. Do you think this TV, will have a the same type of faults, or is it the Logic ones your refering to?

    Many thanks
    Dan

Don't touch it Dan, I have just returned 3 sets all having the same fault, the EPG didn't work. Got a refund after returning the third set.

Did anyone else order the LG 32" LCD from cdiscount discussed here a few weeks back ? I got it for an amazing 228 ( 270 less new customer discount ) but they have had my money for over 3 weeks now and no TV. They just say they are awaiting stock but I have the feeling that it may change to a no stock available at some point.

The picture quality is no different? You can't be serious by saying that? There is plenty of difference between the various sets on the market.
