ooooooohhhhhhhhh.....granny trolleys....   ......when I was about 11 or so (I'm 35 now) my Mum had a green and brown one.....and she used to fill it with wet washing and I had to walk along the main road with the trolley full of washing to the launderette....I used to DIE with embarrassment and cannot stand them.... ...I really can't.......my ex's Mum has one and a few years back he went to visit her and they went to the shops and walked back - he pulled it for her.......if i'd been there, I wouldn't have been able to walk with them, I just couldn't do it!!!

However........I injured my back very badly 5 years ago (nearly couldn't walk again) and am in constant pain to some degree.......I have my shopping delivered regularly by Mr T and I have a very steep driveway which they struggle up with the food.

On the few occasions I do the weekly shop myself, I have to carry it all from the bottom of the driveway (OH has a car parked on the bit nearest the door and the rest is too steep to park on!!) to the door and it doesn't do my back any good! :o

Whilst reading this thread, I thought........hhhhhhhhm.......I could get one of those, put it in the car, put all the carriers in it when I get home, wheel it up the driveway, put the bags in the kitchen and put the trolley, packed flat back into the boot of the car.....

Nnnnnooooooooooo............I refuse to be converted!!!!!!!!

(although my fave is that bright pink one!!!!!) :D

I went to Lidl today and - not a single trolley!!!

Fate must be trying to tell me something!

DDs have implored me not to get a trolley as they "would die of embarrassment!"

Keren29, have you checked out M & S? they have a fold up one that sounds a bit as it it might be a lot like the one Shopsmile described further up the thread. But that pink one? Mmmmmmmmm

They are in the Black Bag range, (you know the ones usually on sale at the till?) and were £7.99. They looked pretty good! though I wasn't able to check them out fully at the time. (I'll have another look next time I am in) Just checked the website and cannot find them on there

Awww, Elona, you just haven't found the one "meant" for you yet
icon7.gif. As for DDs tell them they can like it or carry the shopping home themselves, then see what they say icon10.gif

I was checking out every trolley I saw today for signs of OS :rotfl:

My lidl's trolley arrived by post on Saturday...

..courtesy of a good friend :)

So I took it for a test drive today. It was a bit noisy when empty on the rough tarmac bits of my village pavements, but quiet enough on smoother ones and quieter still when loaded. It did curbs well empty or loaded - but I learned that you have to go off curbs square or the thing can twist.

Anyway, because of it I was able to take advantage of some offers in my local co-op that I simply would not have been able to carry home over and above my planned shop because it would all have been far too heavy.

So I got six tins of Heinz beans for the price of four, and two packs of stewing beef marked down by 99p each. Between them that's not far from half the cost of the trolley itself.

I should have done this ages ago!

I haven't got mine yet either, Kittie. :( I did receive the credit card bill today though and it's been charged to my account on the 6th. I was rather hoping I'd get it today, need to do a big shop. Anyone else got a delivery from Rolser yet?

Just called them and he just said, if it doesn't arrive today, probably tomorrow. In reply to me asking if it had been despatched. Oh well...
