  • Nope se, not mattress turning. No way turned the mattress. Mattress turning didn't happen.
I just woke up feeling like I had been in a fight during the night - feeling I'm sure we're all familiar with.

Bath has helped a little, and I don't feel so much like I've been kicked in the base of the spine. I think a quiet, restful weekend is called for.

Unity, hope your plans went well and that you had a good couple of days.

And it usually feels like the assailant was Mike Tyson or Frank Bruno. Oh, yes. I'm sure we all recognise that feeling. Erm... have you tried heat lotion for when you feel like that? I will say, that I use it on my knees and when the tendons in my arms are giving me some gyp. It doesn't take the pain away, but I do find it changes the sensation (confuses the nerves?) and makes it less unbearable.

That sounds like a good idea.

Isn't a cyber sofa infinitely expandable so there's room for everyone?

  • I suppose I could share behind the sofa if they stay down t'other end. Don't forget that bz is frequently reluctant to get in the shower.*g*

In case anyone needed an excuse, apparently some Physio Departments use the Wii fit for gentle exercise and rehabilitation!

OK, I really don't feel like eating, but had better get some food.

Erm... I currently have in my possession, some 85%, 90% and 99% cocoa content chocolate. Would that help you?

cwta I hope your feeling better soon. yes I know that feeling well, have a nice lazy weekend with plenty of chocolate and a good book to help take your mind off it all.

I missed milk chocolate particularly Cadburys a lot when I first became a vegan, but Ive since discovered Montezumas chocolate shop, its all hand made chocolate and they make a very dark vegan range that is gorgeous, especially the orange and cinnamon truffles (drool)

Have a good weekend folks, Im off to a vegan fair tomorrow woohoo :D

I don't need an excuse to get one...just an excuse to tell the folks when they wonder how I managed to afford it! Though quite what it's got to do with them, I'm not sure!

I've just come back from a trip to Ikea (yes, another one, it's not Groundhog Day) to get the wardrobes we picked last night. I also had DF mow the front lawn when he came back from work. He may've burnt out the lawn mower and I may've continued with the strimmer. :shhh: I also may've wheeled myself round the rest of Ikea when DF had to push the flatbed trolley round with the parts on it... :silenced: What's that? Overdo it? Me? Never! I may have arms like Mike Tyson tomorrow though, lol!

Got MIL2B coming round tomorrow for her Mother's Day luncheon (DF working Sunday), but not decided what to cook her yet. She doesn't like lamb (weirdo) and since she watched programmes like Jamie Saves Our Bacon she won't eat certain other things, like chicken apparently, now.

Must go as I thing DF is killing himself trying to get the wardrobe parts in. Why does Ikea not think about putting handles on their boxes to make them easier to manouver (I know that spelling's wrong but can't think what it is right now, ah well!) ?

    Hello CWTA and all,

The Lakes were beautiful and surprisingly busy for a Wednesday not part of any regular half-term etc. There were a couple of car parks where we couldn't get parked . Mind you the weather was wonderful so many of the 'silver surfers' were out and about including us :D. I managed very well, although Lucy had planned the route over mostly flat ground for our walk. We managed to find the camp-site where Thom and I had our first weekend away together. Of course I remembered it vividly - whereas he had forgotten it completely:rolleyes:.

The cottage they'd booked was beautiful and just over the road to the village pub in Pooley Bridge. It was beautifully fitted out with tiled floors (apart from the bedrooms) an open fire and wonderful views.

The only fly in the ointment was that I discovered a couple of text messages on my mobile asking me to phone Captial One. Everyone thought this was probably a scam, but that I should check the account when I returned home..............................

You've guessed it haven't you?

Yes I've been a victim of identity theft :cry::cry:

That's all I'm going to say as I know there are people on here with much worse to concern them and after all, this is only money and I'm sure it will get sorted eventually. Thankfully we were with DD and her partner for the whole of the time (with no internet access) whilst someone played poker with our cash - so we have an alibi. It could have been far worse had it happened whilst we were abroad.

I hope everyone has weather like we have - we've had unbroken sunshine all week - and both DD and her bloke have come back with freckles :D. On Wednesday it was warm enough for T-shirts :j:j:j.

Hope you all have a great weekend :T.

oh unity thats just terrible :( makes me so angry that people even contemplate doing something so nasty to another person  iv been told before that im too trusting and shouldnt presume everyone will be like myself iykwim :( eg i used to leav e my bag and purse around at work and just because i wouldnt think of touching anything of anyone elses i presume noone else will
im glad you had such a lovely time away though :D made me smile that you remembered the first weekend away and Thom had forgotten :)

i have been reading and *trying* to keep up with you lot but its no easy task  and now cant think what to say at all

I hope everyone under the weather and achy is feeling better, its lovely sunshine here and brightens my mood so much :)
I had a 'friend' say something a little nasty to me this week [ im not sure she meant it to be as nasty as i took it to be, but it hurt] and iv felt very flat for days, years ago i had the skin of a very ignorant elephant but more recently i cant cope with things so well. I dont show that i cant cope in front of people and appear to everyone in RL im sure, the usual [strike]bolshy[/strike]confident person and wait til i get home to go and hide? does anyone know what i mean? im sure people think nothing at all bothers me  i think it was auntie axe said a while back about having an act to use in front of people?? i find that doing that now takes twice as many spoons as it should do ... ahhh well back out into the sunshine, the beds around the pond need dead stuff pulling up as new growth is struggling through :o

ps its great to come on here and have you lot make me smile and laugh at the posts:D

have a lovely day everyone x

  • Unity, sounds like you had a wonderful time!
Sorry to hear about the ID theft - pain in the neck to try to sort out. We may moan about CC companies etc, but thank goodness they spotted it and alerted you to it. The couple of times I've had suspicious activity on cards, I've been lucky enough to spot it straight away and get the card stopped. It's just the hassle you can do without, eh?
Capital One sorted things out for me very swiftly, so I hope you have the same experience.

raeh, have a hug, lovey. Sounds like the remark reallyu got to you - can you explain to the person so you can put the issue to bed in your mind? I think with trusting people etc, it's our nature to endow other people with the same character traits we have - honesty, empathy and such like. It's something that actually, if you analyse it, puts an expectation for us onto the other person to behave in a certain way. I'm exactly the same as you in doing it and when someone steps out of those expectations, you can feel incredibly hurt and let down. I hope you manage to find some peace of mind over the matter, however you decide to deal with it.

I think Mike Tyson etc made a return visit last night, unfortunately, so I can't sit down and type for long.
Oh dear, jus had one of those episodes where you don't know if you're gonna faint, throw up or both. Has left me shaky and weak as a baby, so I think that cancels any plans for today.
    Later peeps.
I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break :D
