Hi stumpy :hello: welcome to the loony bin
The guys on here are great and really welcoming so I hope you stick around. I've had fibro for 5 years now but I'm still checking out other possibilities. Not that I'm in denial or anything

Hi,
I lay there and giggled like an idiot (apparently it was a strange reaction, but I felt as high as a kite!) Your body decides which needles it 'wants' some it holds on to, some it spits out.
Welcome stumpycat. And thank you. I got the giggles at a mental image of you rolling around on the couch chortling while a poor physio cowered in the corner trying to dodge the needles that were being "spat out". :rotfl:
Am all sore and full of aches and pains today, but the sort that will improve a little for walking/moving them off iykwim.
pcl, take a cup of tea back to bed with you and try again later? Hope you feel a bit better soon.
I was a good girlie and booked in for a smear test early next month. I've become almost phobic about it, but given the situation with Jade Goody it's a bit of a no brainer. I just have to remember to hoover away cobwebs etc before I go:rolleyes: TMI?
I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
It has been quiet hasn't it. I think it was quiet last weekend too. Well I had a look pcl and I can only see pics of your cats (how many! )
and some other animals and plants. I don't know if that is right cos I didn't get chance to look before.
Sorry about your toothache, it's the worst kind of pain. That and earache! I have had an infection for three years now and at times I'm in the most excrutiating pain. I'm petrified of the dentist though and I'm currently waiting for treatment under sedation. I need work doing on teeth at both sides of my mouth too so currently I can't chew without pain. Then my front tooth fell out a couple of weeks ago (well the one next door to the front one, in between the front and the fang tooth) and so far I've cancelled two appointments with the dentist cos I keep having panic attacksI'm booked in for monday though so I'm gonna be brave this time. I think they will probably run out of patience with me if I cancel again! I know they aren't going to do anything on the visit so I don't know why I'm making it into this big thing. I also know when they decide what they are going to do, I can get sent to the other place for sedation. I'm just a freak!!!
Why do you have to see the nurse? Hope I'm not being too nosey......it's an affliction.......don't judge me!!! :rotfl:0 -

kass
tmi = too much information
t/s maybe talk soon? i didnt notice it to see the context though so i could be wrong.
i have two cats, whitney and chloe, the others are/were neighbours/friends and sisters or random friendly cat si met on the street. only have 2 atm because i wanted another one before whitney died, except its been 5 years now since i got the second one. phoebe was the second one i got 10 years ago, for the same reason, but when i got really ill she went to live with my sister and was happier there so stayed, whitney stayed with my friend as she was too old to move to london and pines when im away.
i didnt go to the dentist for years, too scared, but then i got really bad tooth ache and this dentist was really nice and didnt tell me i was being a baby/imagining it hurt when it didnt when he was drilling, and stops frequently when i look like im about to freak so i can have a breather so i went back when they sent appointments. but i dont think i can sit there again and let him do that much work again, so i have some thinking to do before i see him again next week, i may well ask him about sedation or something. i can cope with checkups and at a push new fillings these days, but :S
well done on making that appointment careful, never ever catch me doing that. hope the aches and pains do settle donw as you get moving about.
decided i need to stay up, if i nap now i wont sleep tonight (again) but i do seem to be managing to drink my cup of tea now.0 -
Welcome Stumpy, I've had accupuncture twice with the hospital physio, it didn't really have any affect for me at all, I did wonder if the 6 week free NHS course wasn't enough and wondered if I went with someone else privatly it might have been better, I cant afford it though so I'll never know
Talking of being scared of the dentist, Im ok but my Mum hasn't been for 30 years and then it was only because she had an infection or something yucky like that, she's genuinly phobic about it and luckily she hasnt had any problems in that time. She also has a phobia about needles and that is really bad, shes having trouble with her knee, its really painful, she went to the doctors once and was sent for an x ray which showed she had oesteoarthritis, the doc offered her an injection or an op for it but she turned both down as shes so scared of needles, it's got to the point now where she cant get out much and when she does she needs a few days to get over the pain, like us, Im worried shes going to end up housebound and still refuse an op.Ive told her if there was an op that would cure my pain, Id jump at it, I cant understand her but I try to.Real stupidity beats artificial intelligence every time.

What does TMI and T/S mean?
T/S - usually S/e says it and she's refering to her son, affectionately nicknamed TechnoSprog as he's a bit of a [strike]geek[/strike] technology-minded person
I'm not scared of the dentist, I just want a decent one! I have a fake crown thing over my front tooth (of which only half is there after tripping as a child) only you can see my real tooth through it, it's the wrong colour, wrong shape and sits wrong in the gum. It's overall unsightly and I wanted it done before the wedding...only my dentist of like 24yrs decided to retire (how very dare he?? ) so all the patients have been lumped into this other practice in town. I may be being snobbish, but when you refer to a dentist as Dom/Dominic rather than Dr Something then it doesn't instill any faith! It went down hill from there. I was there to see him to get a filling on a tooth where either a bit of tooth or bit of filling (can't remember now) fell out. He didn't even put a band round the tooth and fill the gap, just shoved some stuff in part of the gap and it doesn't even reach the edges of my tooth! I'm unimpressed and I know that I should go back and have him do it properly, but I don't want him anywhere near my teeth again! I don't trust him! And if I don't trust him with a simple filling then there's no way on God's green earth I'm giving him £350-500 to put on a nice pretty crown thing on my dodgy fake tooth! I need to look for a new dentist, but who can be bothered with that, really?
I went to Ikea with OH last night and we finally found a wardrobe combo we like (and can adapt) for a relatively good price! :j (You've no idea how many I've looked at, seriously. Beyond the pale!) And we finally got a big enough mat for in the hall by the front door (OH's bane of existance for the last few weeks) and got some more fake gerberas for the table centrepieces. Now all we need is some vases or similar to put them in and for me to work my magic...
I'm not feeling all that much better, tbh, but I'm using copious amounts of chocolate to boister me up2x230g bars of Dairy Milk have disappeared in the last 2-3days....very mysterious that is...

Chocolate is very good for you. It has milk in and milk strenthens bones. If they put a tax on chocolate I'm moving to the channel islands and becoming a tax exile!
I am so sore today. Everything hurts and I'm really struggling, so I'm gonna see if a soak in a hot bath will relieve some of the aches and pains.
Perhaps my body has decided to pay me back for the TMI and bad joke!!
Hope you all have a peaceful evening.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
