Ive been out with dil and gd today which made a nice change and when I got back I rang Dad, good news he's started eating small amounts and is hoping to be home by the weekend :j

cwta thats a really nice aquarium. Thankyou in advance for the book, Im addicted tot he series now, I hope it doesnt go on too long. Ive just finished reading the Inkheart trilogy, If it was mine Id send it to you as Im sure you'd like it, but I borrowed it from my Mum, so if you see it around its worth buying. Did anyone see the film ?

  • Blackpaw It is a Bio-dome. They aren't popular with "professional" fish keepers - something to do with the large volume of water but not much upward swim available to the fish. Dad's wife had it for 3 or so years with no problems although she didn't really do necessary maintenance which is certainly not hard.
Will let you know how I get on.

lw I'll let you know what the fishes are when I've identified them myself!

snoozer Fingers crossed for good results of test.

Not seen the film, but can't abide watching them once I've read the book, would only want to do it the other way round tbh. I have however read the first and second Inkheart (borrowed from sister) and not sure if I/she has the last one yet...?

I've been AWOL today cos it's been DF's bday :D
I took him to work this morning (so been up from 7.30am and absolutely bleedin knackered!) then went for mil2b to take her shopping before the appointment she needed to be at at 11.10am, because she would normally have been going with her (very routined) friend at that time so naturally needed shopping as well as appointment taxing  My plan then was, you see, to come back from ferrying her about (with the patience of a saint! ;)) and then have a nap in the afternoon before going back out to pick up DF from work and then going out for tea with him and his ma. That didn't happen however as everything conspired against me  and I ended up trying to sort out British Gas' incompetence/grossly overestimated bill (as they had started sending me "Legal Notice"s about trying to get a bailiff order or something equally ludicrous. I have no issue with paying my bill...apart from when it's £200 overestimated for a single month!! Once that was as dealt with as it could be, I began to work my way upstairs for my nap/shower, at which point DF's friend knocked (unexpectedly) on the door dropping DF's bday card off and came in for a chat...."I can't stop long" turned into me booting him out whilst rushing round to get my shoes on to go and get DF:rotfl:We have now been for our meal, complete with (organised) surprise birthday cake brought out from the kitchen at the end of the meal - with trick candles on off course ;) - and I'm currently struggling to stay awake whilst DF chatting on the phone.

I am however very  with my ridiculous sister. Not the one with the pot plants, or the stupid non-wedding in Israel one, but the one that doesn't realise that we don't get on as well as she thinks we do... She's the only one (middle one of 5 that are spread out from 27 to 40) of us who isn't married or on the way up the ailse, yet wanted to draw attention to that by badgering me to have her as my bridesmaid (what?! -btw I think this makes more sense if you know the weirdnesses of my family). Tonight she text me to tell me that 'she'd booked the train so I had to go'...go where you might ask? And so did I...response? Have I seen the email from my dad today? And so it clicks into place - dad sent an email today asking if we kids/siblings could appear at the parentals on 8th Aug for mother's 65th bday (we never did anything for dads? In fact I don't even remember buying dad a present??:o:rolleyes:). I'd already emailed dad back that the 8th was actually the day of my hen do, the following weekend was another hen do I'm at, then the weekend after that is DF's stag do, and that - in short - I'd already told mum that we wouldn't be able to come down at any point before the wedding. I told sister that the 8th was my hen do and she's started throwing a hissy fit that she's not invited....even tho I'm not organising it, it's a surprise and I only know the date and time! (All of which I told her) I got back "Absolutely rubbish. It only happens once." ...yes luv, it does only happen once, and I don't want you there for that once! I wouldn't mind but I have 3 sisters, 3 nieces, a SIL, my mum and mil2b - and NONE of them are coming...it's not like it's a personal slight for crying out loud!

Hi to everyone...there's no way I can go and recap on it all, but I have been present and correct whilst catching up ;)

Hi everyone, not spoken for a while, it can be very engrossing just reading what everyone is up to. Had really bad sciatica last couple of weeks, which has been stopping me sleeping. Well this combined with everything else and champix that I'm taking to stop smoking! So went to docs last week and can't have stonger painkillers cos they'll affect the champix and can't have sleeping tablets cos they'll affect the champix , but can have antihistimens. These did work but left me like a zombie the next day, but on a positive note helped a bit with the ezcema :j. Sciatica has eased off a bit at night so have stopped taking them.
Then on Sunday got a sore troat and a headache...... then a really high temp...... I have swine flu . So now I've got the tamiflu, which seems to be very effective, but tonight I've ended up at emergency doctors with a tight chest and SOB, thinking chest infection. Doc comes out in gown, gloves and full face mask  and I'm not allowed to touch anything. I'm fine, but apparently a side effect of champix can be chest and rib pain, or it could be a pulled muscle from the cough I've developed today .
All in all a fun week  and still got stuff to get for DS1 birthday on Friday, but not sure when I'm allowed back out and if I'll have the energy. DH can't do it as he works and doesn't drive.
Oh well had a good rant. Really should come write more often, so I don't write soooooo much in 1 go :o...
BTW thanks for the links to the book sharing websites..... can't get enough books.... can only go to sleep if I have read something, even if I've been dozing off downstairs gotta read before I can sleep at all. Anyway hope everyone has a good and spoonful day tomorrow ;).

  • pcl Filter change is every 4/8 weeks and if you do a partial water change every week, it can be even longer than that. Filter is about £4 so if you work out the yearly cost, it's not that much. They try to get you to buy the service pack each time, but it's not necessary really.
    And you're right - it is a Bio-Orb not a Bio-Dome.

mesb Hugs to you - hope you are all better soon.

    bz Bleedin' family, eh?

i like aquariums, but not the cleaning etc that goes with them, i dindt know htose round ones existed.

mesb good luck witht he quitting smoking, and i hope you feel better soon.

bz families are pains at times, hope she doesnt sulk or anything.

Awww, pcl I hope you don't catch piggy flu. That was something that occurred to me, what if you don't have anyone to get your Tamiflu for you?

Mesb good luck with quitting smoking. A word of encouragement - if I can quit, anyone can! (Been smoke-free over 7 years now).

BZ Ach! Relatives! Give me dogs any day of the week!

Snoozer paws crossed for a good result from your tests.

Suep glad your dad's able to eat a little something now.

Brain's shut down now, so :hello: to everyone else.

DF's trying to go smoke free today...we'll see how he does. He absolutely has to give up before we're married because we'll only have a literal £5 left after paying bills, providing we stay within budgets. There is absolutely no money for it. Plus his dad died from lung cancer and his mum's health's appalling so it worries me (and him).
Dogs are deffo preferable!! When do your foster dogs arrive lw?
bz families are pains at times, hope she doesnt sulk or anything.
Me neither. I cannot deal with her. It's hard enough at the best of times, but she's so frickin moody. Grrr
    bz Bleedin' family, eh?
    Agreed.

I'm a tad concerned. I got a letter today from my doctors. "Following your recent blood test results the doctor would like you to make an appointment to see him to discuss the results" with a blood form to repeat one of the blood tests (FBC). :confused:They only sent it as a letter as they couldn't get hold of me by phone (apparently) and want me to update my contact details.
