No, don't do the second thoughts thing, go and keep the appointment.:oWell I've taken the plunge and booked the appt with the GP - 17th August was the first pre-bookable they could give me with her, that gives me plenty of time to have second thoughts, decide that really I've been coping and can go on coping.
Anyway, change of subject dd is off to the Faroe Islands for a music festival. It looks lovely and she's going at the invitation of the organisers because she's a freelance journo. I'm glad because she's going through a torrid time at the moment having split up with B/f a few weeks ago. He was fine at first but now I think he's realising she's not going to go back to him he's turning a bit nasty.
If the ex-b/f is turning nasty, then your dd is a darned sight better off without him. Lucky escape, by the sound of it. Hope she enjoys her time in Faroe Islands.
I know what you mean - Mr LW got very despondent when he was out of work for 11 months. Paws crossed for your OH.Sun is shining lets have a positive day, oh has driven up to Milton Keynes for a job interview...well he thinks he has the job already this is like an induction thing... fingers crossed for him, i may loose my carer but I'd rather he gets another job...being made redundant destroyed him.
I'd feel the same about taking Tamiflu. And they reckon the side effects are more unpleasant than the flu! Hope you feel better soon.Careful_with_that_Axe wrote: »Spoke to GP, he said I have all the symptoms of Swine Flu and offered me Tamiflu, but I said I was concerned about the interaction with all the other meds, so I would rather just ride it out. Just have to stay away from people until I'm better, which is no problem *g*
Dad and his wife can shop for me and drop things onto doorstep for me so that's no problem. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Awww, he really is going through it just now. I hope things improve for him very soon.Dad had his op yesterday, they tried again to remove the tumour, but couldn't and they've had to bypass the gut blockage so hopefully he will soon be able to eat again. He just wants to get home and typical Dad is more worried about his wife than himself. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Well, the bread machine is merrily churning tomato bread, the apple pie is in the oven cooking - and my back hurts like bu88ery.
I've taken a dose of Oramorph, but I could cry with the pain right now.:(If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
lw Aww sweets, huggles to you. Hope that the Oramorph kicks in soon. Please don't do all your wonderful baking if you're not feeling up to it - there's always tomorrow to do it?
sue Hope Dad comes home soon - how are you holding up?
Swine Flu symptoms are so similar to a bad summer cold symptoms that I'm not convinced that I am an Oinker, but I would rather stay away from other people a. To portect them if it is and b. To protect myself in case I come across someone with Swine Flu when I'm poorly anyways.
Dad just stuck my favourite local paper through the letterbox for me *g* Bless.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break

Thanks. That's actually why I opted to do a loaf in the breadmaker rather than just doing dough and making it into bread rolls - it virtually does itself.:oCareful_with_that_Axe wrote: »lw Aww sweets, huggles to you. Apple pie is done now, and out on the cooling rack.
Oramorph has helped lots, thankfully.
Hope you feel better soon Auntie Axe. At least staying in touch via internet doesn't spread germs (not even going to mention computer viruses.....:D)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
cwta i think just to be safe the doctors are diagnosing everybody with similar symptoms as an oinker since they are not swabbing anymore to confirm. in a similar way winter colds get called the flu iyswim.
lw rest for the rest of the afternoon? hope the oramorph has kicked in now.0 -
or the other option is someone failed to tell me the difference between a bad cold and the flu is not that the flu knocks you for 6 really and leaves you unable to get out of bed for more than a few mins at a time (if there si no underlying illness to make the cold worse than usual that is)0

I think you're right, pcl. Also, Mr LW thinks the Government are making a song and dance about it to distract us from all the other stuff going wrong in this country at the mo.purplecatlover wrote: »cwta i think just to be safe the doctors are diagnosing everybody with similar symptoms as an oinker since they are not swabbing anymore to confirm. in a similar way winter colds get called the flu iyswim.

Yes I shall be resting til Mr LW comes in for his dins, as soon as the loaf is done (about 10 mins time):oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
lw, pcl Totally agree with both of you -I'm not gonna be convinced it's swine flu without a swab whatever to diagnose it - They aren't doing that any more, but without that who can tell? It's just guesswork.
And after all the expenses debacle, who trusts MPs?I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break
