Eek. Bet you're glad you found him! Hope he's ok and it's such a minor infection that they send him home immediately :)

By the way, I've been reconsidering my honeymoon destination options...anyone got any ideas on somewhere abroad that's warm but not ridiculous, bit of a breeze, not deathly quiet or too loud, fairly flat, disabled/wheelchair accessable and what the deal is with taking wheelchairs abroad..? I'm worried about traipsing about the airports, but have a feeling that wheelchairs are checked in...??

Any clues, oh fonts of knowledge..? :D

Maybe Majorca ? i went to cala bona resort. thomson hotel, many appartments /rooms on ground floor , ramps every where i walk on them as steps are hard for me. few people in wheelcahirs , and a few that looked in a real bad way with there excellent carers, we made friends with . direct access to very long flat seafront that went for miles and good eating places... the airport when you get of the plane is like miles to airport exit, which nearly killed me off and i was last one on plane going home they kept plane on hold for me ...very red faced to say the least. but what i should have done ... you always think your be ok and can do it is ... they have a excellent check in service which i saw , where they greet you at airport in a buggy thing and take you to the waiting room ..come back for you and take you to the plane on this buggy best front seats aswell !! lady of about size 34 used this service on our plane took 2 seats aswell. on arrive she was first to luggage they help with this and then take you to exit.. think all for free.. might do this next time , as there are miles to walk to terminal now..lots of seats to sit down, but like me i took to much time resting to get to plane and was last on ...:rotfl::rotfl:
the truth is out there ... on these pages !!

  • sue Glad you found your Dad in the end but sorry that it was in hospital. Hope he gets to come home soon. Will get book off to you asap!

bz I sortta agree with Jamla - I love Menorca. I used to go to a place on the South Coast called Santo Tomas which has wheelchair access to the long, flat beaches, beautiful scenery and people are so friendly and helpful.
I was told that they will check your wheelchair into the hold and get you onto the plane with one of their wheelchairs.
I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break :D

Dontcha just hate it when the phone rings at 8.15am.

pcl You've been quiet - hope you're OK.

I at last have a couple of days with nothing booked in except for a fun visit to a Dog and Horse show on Sunday afternoon. Still lots of sorting out to be done, but books are calling to be read too *g*

    Have a good day all.

Yes, yes I do. What I hate more tho is chipper "I've -been-up-since-dawn" workmen calling at 9am. ;)

Going getting ready to galavant to Birmingham now... *double yawn*

    Have a nice day folks...

Well, we (when I say we, I obviously mean *I* ;)) rang the jeweller and the rings are still at the engravers so we concluded that (esp as my IBS is tricky atm [STRIKE]and I can't be @rsed with my parents[/STRIKE]:shhh:) there was no point going down to Brummy so we'll try for the florist instead. And maybe go look at the cars.

And yes cwta I'm sure I can sort a piccy ;)

poohbear what about things with ginger in them? (Ginger stops you feeling sick) Ginger tea? Giner snaps? Ginger nut biscuits? Other than that I was always given dry/lightly buttered toast to begin with when I was a kid, maybe some banana, but definitely nothing with dairy in til you're feeling better!

:rotfl:I am not laughing at you bz but I am always giving that advice to people with travel sickness and forgot all about it when it is me!!:rotfl:
