Cwta good luck with the move!

pcl thanks for the link, I think I might've finally got the hang of HH!

Well, they're on about [STRIKE]chucking out[/STRIKE] releasing mil2b today...but she's still got the drain in...which they were trying to get out (bearing in mind it needed CT guidance to get in ) til the CT guys told them that they were crazy to try and take it out after only 4 days and it needs to stay in for at least 10 days....so now they're on about [STRIKE]chucking her out[/STRIKE] releasing her with it in! AND to top it off, when I spoke to her before, she didn't want to have the dogs home tonight...that's most unusual and just tells me she's not ready to come home.

  • Thanks for all our good wishes. I have the keys!!
bz Think you are gonna have to firm with the hossie. MIL2B can't come home like that when she lives on her own, that's just not right. If she's not ready to come out yet, she'll more than likely be straight back in again as she won't be well enough to cope.
She may have put you through trials and I'll automatically leap to your defence, but I feel sorry for her over this. Ugs to you lassie.

I'm sitting here scoffing a Big Mac coz I only had half a sarnie for lunch and was starving. At least it gets food out of the way and I can have a bath and then get going again. Now I've got a car load of stuff shifted into new place, it doesn't feel so disorganised or overwhelming.

Landlady is such a sweetie and deals with all the paperwork in a professional manner which really gives me confidence. Dad and his wife came and had a nose and seem to approve.

If I don't catch you later, I'll be back soon.

bz your welcome, enjoy :) i hope they havent released mil with the drain in, point out big time to them that she lives alone and you cannot possibly be there for more than an hour a day, if they do release her they need to sort out carers to go in multiple times a day instead. unless you thinks he would be able to manage showering and cooking and etc all on her own. *insert rant about nhs and lack of funding meanign they want to kick people out asap regardless if whats best for the person*

careful good luck with the rest of the move tomorrow, dont overdo it moving stuff yourself this evening, you have movers coming for a reason.

sue hope the stroppyness gets out of her system and is a sign that the sore throat etc will be gone by the time she needs to leave for iow, if she has energy enough to be stroppy its got to mean its not a very nasty infection/cold right?

Added some piccies of house to bore you even more!

sue It's a shame DD can't taken her cue from you to deal with ill health with good grace. Maybe you should point that out to her? Although you're never too old to want a cuddle from your Mum when you're poorly, she shouldn't be taking it out on you.
I think you need to push her out of the dorr to the festival so you get a quiet weekend to yourself. *g* After all, she'll feel so much better when she's there! *g*

pcl Yes, you are right about leaving stuff to the movers - I'm just not very good at just letting people get on with doing stuff when the stuff they are doing is for me iyswim.

Am already incredibly tired and suspect I will be until I can allow myself a lie in at the end of the week. I'm resorting to double the steroids and Tramadol to keep me going and using my wrist splints the whole time.

Firstly, Cwta, your new house is lovely!! :D Congratulations and best wishes for you in your new home :) I know what you mean about struggling to accept others doing something when you're not, and it's for you, but you've called them in to help for that exact reason so sit there and be good!!

Secondly, mil2b did indeed come home - despite our concerns...of course the nurses always defer to the patient and do that "are you sure you want to go home thing" - of course they phecking do! They've been cooped up with imbeciles for long enough ta!! They said the drain (which yes is still in despite being home, and they were only gonna get a district nurse to come every other day!! Well that's changed to everyday now at our insistance! N0bs!) hadn't had anything in for 2 days so they wanted to take it out today...since we brought her out at 7.30 and check it at 10.30 there was 120mls in it!!! They are utter imbeciles and I think we'll be having yet more words! D!cks!

Rant over. :o For now.

  • Blimey bz I am reet shocked! How about you being there and calling her GP out to assess whether she should be at home or not? Oops - trying to solve problems again :D
    Hope it works out OK.

I'm slightly ashamed that the house hasn't got a funky star light anywhere *g*
Catch you all on the other side.

cwta your up really early, hope our sitting having a cuppa or 10 before the movers arrive. will kitty get to be at the vets before they arrive?

Well, last night we left mil2b to it after making sure everything was alright for the night, but DF was a bit panicy and upset about leaving her on her own and was all for going back...so the task for tonight is to clear his bedroom (which has been a bombsite since I) so we can maybe say here. She does seem a lot better today though. After dropping DF off at work, going to Hobbycraft to get more wire for my purple flowers for the Order of Services, then Next to get some black linen pants for the funeral next week, then the GPs to take the discharge letter and her prescription renewals thingy and asking for more help for her, then coming to check on mil2b and after ringing the district nurses and making sure that they were coming today, and sorting through all her post from the last 2 weeks and then going to Waterfields for the obligatory requested pastie and sausage rolls for her....I'm pooped!! I only got to sleep about 4am and had to be up to take DF to work so I could be around for mil2b today. I'm KNACKERED! And there's no chance of a nap though, cos mil2b has just requested the dogs back to keep her company, then I'm supposed to be going to see the "best" friend who's "organising" my "surprise" hen do (*sigh*) and then go pick up DF. So I'm hoping he'll take mil2b for some food shopping and I might be able to get my head down! Surviving on far too little sleep!

On the up side - the district nurse is going to come daily and she's going to put in a referral today for Social Services to get in touch about some sort of meals on wheels type thing...so we'll see what happens.
