DD1 is on her way back from airport and has decided that since everyone else she was going to visit is busy, she will grace me with her presence!

Whooey it's hot! Sod leaving the packing til its cooler - it'll have to wait til tomorrow! Hope you're all having a ball in the sunshine.
sue Hope dd had a good time. I think it takes 'til a daughter is middle aged for them to realise how precious a Mum is and that they do, occasionally, have a life of their own! *g*
I really don't want to move, but need the loo. Wonder how long I can hold out *g*.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -

No it's not just you Kassthey do grow out of it though, at least my eldest has but he's 27 now
We've got a couple of fans but they are still up in the loft atm, I dont know about more inland but on the south coast it's been quite breezy and like cwta we've had all the windows open when we were in today.Real stupidity beats artificial intelligence every time.

No fan here but our house walls are 3 feet thick so it keeps it quite cool downstairs, upstairs with the windows open all day has helped to get a tiny breeze through.
kass DS1 has grown out of it at last, he is 23.
DS2 just harrumphed at me when I asked him to fill the kettle for me! He is 20!
DS3 changes with the weather, he was my garden slave yesterday.:j I now have three raised vegetable beds. It has made me feel so much happier to be able to grow my veggies again.

Morning peeps
On line for the hottest day of the year so far!
I made the mistake of trying out an airbrush tan kit that I got for my burfday last night  They say a leopard can't change its spots, can an Auntie Axe change her stripes?! I don't think I'll be leaving the house for a couple of days
Ordered a couple of chairs and an outside table from tescos using my Clubcard vouchers. Only had to put £9 towards them. Chuffed. Free delivery to local store too. :j
My HF (now friend) is coming over for coffee and a natter this afternoon she's having a rough time at the moment - 3 months pregnant and boyfriend has just been kicked out as he's got a bit "handy" with her. She's a bit isolated as doesn't have many friends here. Poor lassy.
I feel bad I've had to stop her from cleaning for me to save a little money, but at least I can be supportive in other ways.
Maybe I'm learning that I can't solve everyones problems when I have problems myself to deal with.
pooh nice to see you back. What luxury to have raised beds! I love growing veg - so satisfying.
kass/sue Sorry I got you mixed up earlier - Must try harder!!I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
morning.
how is it that in the summer when the thermostat says 21 degrees in my house im too hot and nnot comfortable in a sweater, yet in winter when the thermostat says the same thing but it is central heating keeping it to that temp i need layers of clothes? i dont get it.
have a nice chat with you hf/friend cwta, maybe have her come round once a week (or more) without doing the cleaning, that way you both still get the social interaction you would have had from her coming to clean.0 -
Hi guys
I am currently sat on my half-painted garden bench out in the back garden in the shade (that is provided by my house...can only get full sun on the patio in the mornings. Tis nice...apart from the neighbours dogs barking to each other - which they do a lot! I keep shouting "shut up!!" to them every so often which quietens them for a wee while but it's soo annoying, esp as one of them has is a big dog that really bellows at that annoying, unignorable, pitch! It's even more annoying as our dogs have been here since Friday and done none of that rubbish. If it continues much longer I'm gonna have to find out which neighbours they belong to and have a word, they are doing my head in that much. Molly keeps going lying in (what we laughingly refer to as) the flowerbeds (which should really be called the weedbeds!) in the sunshine and for some reason or another Buddy keeps thinking it's a grand idea to try b0nking her.... Hmmm  He'll have a job cos she's been "done"! :rotfl: and as soon as she realises he's in that mood she just sits down, lol.
My trainers must've been delievered today - or attempted to. My trusty dogs, who will bark at any sort of intruder noise, didn't even make enough noise to wake me up when the postie knocked on, so I shall have to reclaim my car from DF tomorrow and go pick them up from the GPO  I do need to go to the PO to send the other pair back that I didn't like anyways, so it might prompt me before it's too late to send em back :o
I decided last night (among the stiffness, raging headache, swollen glands, muscle spasms and general feeling of carpness) that I'd overdone it this weekend - with the traipsing about and having nephew and painting the patio furniture - so I'm going to stay in and watch daytime tele (on extended array of channels courtesy of Sky) and do some cross-stitch with the patio door open (which is off my living room ) and kitchen door open (creating a nice breeze) while the dogs meander in and out of whichever door they feel like and then get confused about how to get back in
I've come to the conclusion that in the same way that the cold gets to my nerve endings and makes my skin unbearable, the hot must do the same - I've had a baseball cap on all weekend and only had bear arms but still felt like I've got heatstroke at the end of the day and my skin feels prickly like it's been burnt, but there's barely a change in colour to my skin (which normally tans really well)...anyone else get this feeling??"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -

Some old helpful dear would tell me something like "it's a different kind of hot" no doubt...
Uhoh- Buddy's just spotted a bee/wasp and as both dogs love to try and catch anything that flies I'm a tad concerned how into the game he'll get....esp as he had an allergic reaction last summer and looked like he was half a Rotty/pitbull! His face all puffed up, it was HILARIOUS on such a small dog! :rotfl:Funny as that was to witness...I'd really rather not make another emergency trip to the vets "I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0
