On the plus side, I finally got round to joining the Hydrotherapy Club. Gotta be worth £14 a month for a weekly half an hour session.

that should be fun. hope you arent getting another cold, or if you are it goes away quickly.

You're havin a go at me for saying "my yed" (which is just 'my head' ->'my 'ed' ->'m'yed' btw! Nothing whatsoever to do with "front bums" :rotfl:) and then come out with "choffing"!! :rotfl:
I need a dictionary! I thought it was bad enough that Mr LW and pronounce things differently (as in I say "basket" with a short "a" and he says "barsket" etc) but I'm totally confused now.:D
Guess what...? I'm still awake :(
There's other things to do in bed other than sleep, y'know.;) Or is DF not with you?

CwtA what's a hydrotherapy club? Sounds intriguing.

I'm not a very happy Wolf today, I'm hurting all over, morphine notwithstanding, and I've got to get my act together by tomorrow night, cos we're going to the opera, and I don't want to be sat in pain all evening. May try a hot bath tonight (sorry BZ) and see if that helps.

Holistic Witch - sorry, I don't know anything about this, but I'm sure someone will be along soon who will. 8/10 tramadol does seem like a lot in one day. Have you been prescribed Lyrica?

PcL - my tuppence in the toastie debate, George Foreman grills are great - they make the best toasties, and they're easy to clean. I remember as a kid trying to make tinned spaghetti toasties - just for badness. They were yummy actually, but it took my mum weeks to clean the toaster...

bigzippy - I saw wedding photos being taken for a bride who'd obviously tried the 'proportional' approach with her bridesmaids. The photographer had them sitting on the ground, and the groom had a terrible time getting them all upright afterwards (they were all a little tipsy too). The photos must have been hilarious. Not that I'm judging, I'm not exactly slim myself - and there's no way I'd risk sitting on the ground!

Sorry about the sleepless nights - they're horrible. At one point I found valarian tea helpful - might be worth giving a go? Frankly, if I've had 2-3 sleepless nights in a row I now resort to 50mg of tramadol and two beers. Totally irresponsible, but when I'm desperate it works.

You could try freecycle for a new printer - they very often come up there.

Cwta - I'm curious about the hydrotherapy club. My gym has a great hydrotherapy pool - I'm kinda hooked on it.

I'm recovering from the medical. If I'm honest I've found it really upsetting. I'm just convinced I'll be turned down and I don't know where I'll find the energy for an appeal. Maybe it'll be ok. I'm obsessing about it, and then kicking myself for obsessing about it, since it's stupid when I can do nothing about it. I'm still really knackered, but I'm back at work, so I'd better get back to that now! I've a shiatsu session in the morning - total luxury, and it will help, so I'm living for that right now.

Jo I know it's difficult, but try to put it out of your head for now. There's nothing, zilch, nada that you can do til you hear, and you're using valuable energy worrying.

That said, I'd be just the same.

Enjoy your shiatsu - I don't know anything about that, but obviously it does you good.:o

  • Hi Holistic witch, we aren't allowed to give medical advice on this board, s I can't help you with the question I'm afraid. Can I suggest you go back to your GP if you still don't feel happy?
In the meantime, welcome to the gang.

  • BTW, jo, I know you are worrying about the medical, but I heard a great saying that might at least make you laugh - Worrying is like being on a rocking chair. You don't get anywhere, but it keeps you occupied. *g*.

The Hydrotherapy club is for people who have had their allotment of 6 x half an hour NHS sessions - by being referred by a consultant. The Pool is available late afternoons and evenings in half an hour sessions, if you join the club. It costs £5 to join and then £14 a month. They had a slot available for me at 4.45 on a Friday which should be fine. You obviously have to self-managing in terms of the exercises as there is no Physio available, but there is a lifesaver. Apparently it was set up by a local Charity so that people could benefit from extra sessions when the pool was closed to NHS patients. I really don't like signing up for monthly costs, but this has got to be worth while as I've become even more feak and weeble after being so inactive with the cold I had.

  • bz seems to be implying that I'm a Northerner exhiled in the SW by knowing about yed. I'm more of a Heinz 57. Bet ya dunno about a "10 foot" though Zippy one. *g*

me when something frustrates me that much i give it up as a bad job.
I've sort of done the same except I need them doing, so I either have to persist or never send out invites  I've called in reinforcements though - computer geeks and graphic designers. If they can't work it out then no one can!
bz, if you do manage to get up at lunchtimeish and then go to bed at normal time, that might reset your internal clock. Do I think it will happen? No. *g*
Thanks for the vote of confidence (and you Kass!), but you were totally right. I woke up at 5pm after some very weird dreams about going to support my ex from college days after his dad (or was it his mum in the dream?) died. His dad is currently dying of cancer though, so it's even weirder. Wasn't altogether pleasant either, and quite vivid. :o
I'm a bit of a grump today as I think I have another cold coming on and I feel I've achieved precisely nothing this week. Frustrating
    I think you'll find that:
    1. you're still on the mend from an infection whilst you have no immune system
    2. you have achieved more than you thought
    3. you've been trying to look after your poorly pops even though you may've put your own health at risk doing so
    4. you posted on here regularly and helped us all keep our chins up
    5. that you sent off valuable post this week, and that's all that really mattered anyway ;)
So ner. :naughty: *sticks tongue out and runs off quickly*

PCL I have bought knickers from Tescos, but never the packs, only the ones that matched the bras I bought. They were on size or a bit bigger. MiL2B bought some (in a v small size for her imho) that didn't fit, so can't really help you there! Sorry!

He was with me til he went to work, but we're waiting for the wedding on that score.

Where ya from LW? You could always ask Kass for her version of translations/definitions, but who knows what she'd come up with! :rotfl:

Holistic witch don't know anything about morphine I'm afraid, but don't be "sorry to ask", in between the giggles and banter we're here for the Fibro stuff too ;)

Jo thanks re the valerian tea idea, but apart from the fact that I can't be doing with hot drinks, these lot put me off valerian a while ago when they were talking about the smell! My bridesmaid's are very slender teenagers, with far too clear skin and far too trendy and a very cute 6yr old (my nieces) -so even if I wanted to be proportional with them, it would never work!! ;) Re the printer, I don't want to take one that I don't know will work for what I want, iyswim? Try to put the medical out of your head, difficult though it is. You might be in for a long wait, and like one of the others said, you're only using up energy worrying.

LW enjoy your hot bath and I'll try not to be jealous. ;) I've not dared use the shower over the bath yet for fear it may leak through the ceiling again! :o

Cwta dare I ask about a "10 foot"??
id never have thought to try the gf for them, shall do that next time i want one, ta jo.
:rotfl:I knew it didn't make any sense, but I read that as trying the girlfriend for them!
