bz glad you got some sleep, being up this early and not having been up all night might help reset your clock so you get to sleep at a reasonable hour tonight, maybe. not freaking out over a missed break is good, but :( not so good that there is no solution.
My sentiments exactly. Still hoping I can grab another couple of hours before lunchtime as 4-4.5hrs is just not enough. All the muscle spasms and my aching sinuses tell me so ;)

BZ have you been to sleep at all in the last 12 hours ? I dont know about Ami helping you sleep, I think you need something stronger, like a mallett ;)
I would agree with you suep except for the fact that the thought of a mallet coming anywhere near my sinuses atm sends a shiver down my spine! :o

I took not only the increased Ami, but also cocodamol(30/500), diclofenac & Tramadol which usually has a spacey/dopey effect on me - which generally I'm not mad keen on, but this time it was a welcome relief! Problem was I woke up just over 4hrs later with the post-tramadol itches  I've just taken the same concoction again, after Tramadol alone didn't shift my sinus pain in the least, and am hoping for another couple of hours snooze. Please will you guys remind me that I have, in fact, also taken my morning meds so don't need to take them if/when I wake up again! :o

Im still very ouchy today, but my heads cleared a bit. Does anyone else get that heavy numb feeling on one side of their head and face ? It makes thinking and talking even harder than normal. It's gone now anyway, Im left with a lot of pain, but I'm used to that.
 Yep, I have that pleasure too. Sometimes I just want to sit, not speak, not really move my face to partake in conversation at all, when that happens.

I came on here this morning to put off washing my hair, its not the washing thats a problem, but the drying, the hairdryers too heavy and if I leave it to dry naturally it takes hours and ends up frizzy and I cant do anything with it.
How does everyone else manage ?
I usually have my shower and then I sit on the bed for a while "air drying" cos I'm too knackered to do that rigorous (sp?) towelling off thing that men in particular seem to do! Then about an hour later (it usually takes that long to go from shower to air drying to clothing to downstairs) I'll brush through my hair, usually end up having a drink or a snack, plonking myself in front of the telly and dry my hair with the hairdryer. If my hair's very lucky I might straighten in a while later/the next day. ;) I can't do it all at once these days and I've realised there's no point trying to cos my body's trying to tell me it's too much.

FYI I have long, very thick, very frizzy locks and if I don't use the hairdryer (and sometimes if I don't use the straighteners too) my hair has been known to still be wet a couple of days later.:o

First of all, the head thing. It concerns me. Have you told your doctor? I personally don't get it but maybe others do. Either way don't forget that it can be dangerous to assume everything is down to the fibro!! Sorry to be teacher and tell you off but it really has worried me.

With the hair I don't manage! I either get someone else to do it or blather it in mousse and leave it. My hair is curly and very prone to frizz and to get it looking nice I have to use the diffuser on top of the very heavy hairdryer. I generally leave that for occassions where I'm going out and get my sister/daughter/friend to do it. Most other times it's tied up but even that hurts my head  Now my stroppy mare of a teenager has stomped off to her dads I have no-one on-site to wash/dry my hair anymore :( I've thought about making a regular appointment, say once a week, at the hairdressers for my hair washing and drying so at least it looks nice for a few days a week, but haven't got round to checking out the prices yet.

bz, yes that was a front bum thing. Haven't you heard of that? I thought that was a common one. Glad you've discovered the cause of your freaky foot!! :D It's really carp when you have episodes like you're having and go for days without any real sleep. I didn't sleep at all Monday and Tuesday night this week and felt like complete carp. You've been like this all week now haven't you honey.

Hi Trialia, good to see you :T

Morning pcl and everyone else :j Lets all have a good day!! :D

Aye I have, but it's not at all unusual, I have to say. DF did mucho appreciate that I was asleep for at least most of the time he was last night, bless him, apparently he sleeps better knowing I'm asleep too. Awww. :smileyhea (Did I mention I can't wait to marry him? :D)
I've heard, I think (in the blurry recesses of my memory) that one, but I think you've just got it on the brain now! lol. It was actually the "spend a penny" phrase that made me think along those lines to get what you were laughing at

Kass re your hair, it sounds like you've got similar hair to mine...can I suggest what works (usually) for me? I use L'oreal's hair gel (The normal for everyday and the extra hold for nights out) and comb that through, scrunch it up and leave it (providing it's not bitterly cold out) and it dries with nice curls instead of grim frizz :D Plus because it's gel you can just scrunch it with damp hands and it's regain it's curls (say after a night's sleep). It's taken me years to find that this works for me, so hope it helps you? Plus, it seems to make a difference that I get my hairdresser, when she cuts my hair, to cut it "choppy" (not choffy ;)) at the ends, rather than straight cut. It helps the hair curl better imho. Oh, and if you want it curly, don't use as much conditioner. :)

Hope everyone has a good day. I'm still not asleep again, yet, but might try again soon, or just curl up in the semi-dark and read a book and hope that it's restful enough. Supposed to be having a rather impromptu housewarming tonight. I think there's only about 5 coming round (out of maybe 30?) but as we only asked people yesterday... It seems to do DF good to have people round every so often and he was gonna see his best mate anyway (who I really struggle to get on with, not cos he's not nice enough, he's just really introverted when he's not being inflammatory) so I thought why not? I have to confess that I did think that I wouldn't have to deal with so many people if we only did it at short notice :shhh: Am I bad? :o

  • suep I agree about maybe seeing the Doc re the face thing. It's never a waste of time as even if you come away with "It's a Fibro thing", at least you know that.
Glad you're feeling a little better - book will wend its merry way to you today hopefully.

raeh, I haven't heard when your doc's appointment is yet ;):D
Wonderful that you'll have a couple of weeks to REST :p You can always just act as a taxi for the kids rather than taking part in all the activities if you don't feel up to it?

I thought my hair would be easier now the curl has dropped out and it is easier to straighten when I can be bothered. Just harder to make it look tidy when I can't. I highly recommend getting it cut short to make it easier to deal with.
When my arms etc are really bad, rather than rub the shampoo into my hair, I used to just comb it through and leave it couple of minute or so before rinsing. And another tip for curly hair - baby shampoo! Also spray in, leave in conditioner on the ends.
I still think bz has wonderful pre-raphelite hair and it would be a crime to cut it short.

bz, you're not being bad at all - you're doing what you can to manage and still have a good time.

I'm not sure about this obsession with front bottoms, but the best word I heard was "foof". *g*. BTW my gramps used to call me "Tup" short for tuppence. :o
Maybe I had a habit of fannying around :D

I'm not sure how I feel about bz telling me off! I thought that was my job?

I'm not normally moody, but I still have a bit of a head on today and I think it may be down to sommat that the GP gave me to help with the hot flushes etc. Or the recent time of the month that was the first one for 9 months and was a nasty one!
Someone give me a kick up the bum please!

    Front or back??:D

BZ I loved the pics of the pups, Sorry, I meant to say. I did click the "thanks" button, but forgot to actually say anything when I posted (brainfog again).

Oh dear, so many of us feeling like carp at the mo - Raeh have you phoned the doc yet? you did promise. And Suep I agree with the others, a wee checkup wouldn't be a bad idea.

BZ I'm glad you now have a label on what's causing the foot thing. Doesn't help it go away, but at least you can stop worrying about what it is.

Oh booger - there was a whole lot more I was going to say, and it's gone.

Not to worry - it's time to put the Shepherd Spy in the oven anyway, as Mr LW is working from home today, so we're having our main meal at 1 o'clock.

  • Thank you lw, I forgot (again) to say I loved the piccies of the goggies. I want to adopt Axel, although I suspect the cat may have something to say about that - but she can have an opinion when she contributes to the household *g*.

A kick in the front bottom doesn't sound nice!

p.s. unity, hope you are recovering and sharon - never far from my mind.

Apparently he is the only one of the litter that isn't eating. Awkward little b*gger!!
