Hi

Hope someone might be able to help me, ive had a letter from a company saying they can reclaim money back from London Scottish, and want £140 to start the wheels in motion, i believe London Scottish arent in business anymore, do i use them or try to do it myself? i had a loan with them in 2005.

Thanks
you don't need a claims management company - go on the fscs (financial services compensation scheme) website - this if for complaints against companies who have gone bankrupt in 2005 to date -
• I dont think they have, think they have just gone under.
Thanks for your help

Hi Helen

Many of us have been successful in reclaiming through the financial compensation scheme (FSCS) due to business dissolving and so on, so what you do you request a claim form from them, if you ring them they should arrange to send you one through the post, details of contact here:
http://www.fscs.org.uk/contact-us/
You then send copies of documents of what you have within the form, (copies though, do not send originals).

There is also a thread on here which you should find helpful and ask anything you need to help you through this also, here:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1897143

Good luck, you should be okay as the business are already in default.;)

• Hi All
Just a quick update, I have written back to LTSB asking for some rough figures as I am not going to sign anything in full and final settelment without having an idea of how much they are offering. I also said I disagreed with their ruling that I wasn't mis sold on one of my loans (but was on the other 3!!??) Hoping to hear back soon but will prob send it off to the FOS.
Thanks for all the great support and advice.

Good luck to you.
Did you send a letter through the post or by email?

I normally do both just to make sure lol, but if you require the details of the insurance section you can also email them here:

Customer.Service@lloydstsb.co.uk
or com one of them lol.;)

Good luck.:)

• Another one, I took out a loan in March 2006 for £32000 on top of ths was added £7900 in PPI, the loan was paid off in December 2006 for a sum of £37000. I wrote to central capital as I feel they pushed me over the phone to take the insurance, they say they have listened to the call and say they think I wasnt pushed into taking the Insurance. but believe I should be entitled to some of the PPI if not all of it back, they say go to th FOS. Can I get recordings or are they just fobbing me off.

I agree with Tiggrae, reading your post, it certainly looks like a fob off.
