Hi there and your welcome ;)

Yes this is procedure of the FOS so not to worry, however depending on the bank they may take some time to do this, my hubby although different bank is still waiting for his refund and calculations, it was solved with the FOS about Oct-Nov 2009 where he signed the acceptance, then sent on to the bank, the FOS then send a letter to you to let you know they have sent all the particulars to the bank and if you do not hear from them by about 4 weeks of the FOS letter is to contact the bank, if you do not hear anything from them after say chasing them up on an update your entitled to let the FOS know and they normally offer then to chase them up for you for an update.;)

Hi, everyone and thanks for your advice. My letter has stated to give egg 8 weeks to respond with a offer and if not I can contact them. I am surprised at how quickly the ombudsman have dealt with my case as I was told in october the backlog was approx 6-9 months so was very surprised but happy. I am not sure how much I will get but am hoping it will be enough to clear one credit card and then I can start on my credit card charges. Will let everyone know how I get one.

    Thanks

Hi everyone, I sent off my claim against First Plus to FOS in September 2009 and have been getting updates from FOS. Here is my dilemma .... I took out my secured loan with single premium ppi on 18 May 2005, so not long now until I can claim back my £6700 for not having any claims. BUT I have sold my house, after just 3 months on the market and it looks like the completion date will be well before 18 May. Am I going to lose out on claiming the £6700 if I settle before that date and if so can I wait until after that date to settle the debt even though my mortgage will be repaid before that. OMG I cannot believe the timing on this one!! Any comments will be very much appreciated.

    Hi there

It should make no difference at all, so if this is settled or not it still comes back to you.;)
Good luck, please keep us posted.

  • Good Evening all,

Just want to know if anyone else out their is having a similar experience.

We had a secured loan with Blemain Finance in 2005, and mis-sold PPI (what a surprise) I wrote to Blemain who inturn told me that it was Click for Freedom who actually sold us the PPI and they have now ceased trading (or dissolved was the description on the Companies house website). I phoned the FSCS today and they told me to put everything in writing to them plus any evidence. So I have written a letter and posted copies of everything else I had with it. What are the likelyhoods that I will get any/all of my money back now?? Can anyone help???? PLEASE x
