  • Hi Di - thank you it really is good news and it was thanks to the advice and guidance I had from you and some other great people that I decided it was worth pursuing this, and then taking a stand on refusing the first offer. I hope it will give encouragment to others to stay positive.

Thanks again for your support - and the support that I can see you give to lots of other people in the same position as me. :A

Its fantastic news hun I am so happy for you and glad it worked in your favour in regards of not accepting the first offer, they obviously know they are in the wrong somewhere along the line.

    Hi Folks,

My partner was missold PPI around three years ago when she took out a credit card in her local bank branch.

She was under the impression it would cover her if she voluntarily left employment etc, but I recently told her this wasn't the case.

So before we consider reclaiming, we have one question.

Can/will the card issuer, in this case Lloyds TSB, close her credit card account and demand full repayment should we pursue this PPI reclaim?

No they have to follow guidelines on "treating customers fairly" so please do not worry I have claimed back on about 6 cards for family and friends and their accounts were not closed. Good luck and go for it. Let me know how you get on.

  • Hi, I have been taken to court and lost on a late payment on a 12 months interest free agreement and need to pay all the interest. Please could someone tell me if I can still claim the ppi back and who would I send the claim to Land of Leather or the finance company.
Many thanks in advance of any replies

Hi, when was this taken out? You need to make the complaint to whoever sold you the insurance. There is a reclaiming guide here if you need any help

    Hi

I had a company reclaiming my PPI for me and received correspondence from Welcome Finance and FOS last August to say they had agreed to refund my payments of approx £1400 with an additional £100 compensation. When they got my letter of acceptance back they changed their minds and said my case was a Jurisdiction one because the loan was taken out before they were covered by FOS. We are struggling like most, and used the correspondence to hold of some payments before Christmas and now we are in difficulty.

I had no idea Welcome were legally able to do this; after reviewing my case for such a long time and then officially agreeing in writing to my claiming company and the FOS to agree the refund.

The company handling my claim are now (for other reasons) not able to further my claim legally. The FOS still have my case open and apparently they are in discussion with Welcome's insurers but have said there is no guarantee or timescale.

I am wondering how many other people have been affected like this?

Is it worth trying to fight this through the courts myself or leave with the FOS?
