Thank you for the quick reply. I do have bank, credit card, mortgage and loan details going back about 5 years i think. My current account is a joint account with my wife, and i think the personal loan is joint as well. Will i need to request my wife's Sar as well and hence £20 or will all the information relative to our joint accounts be given in my request. Also i presume i send the request by recorded delivery to act as proof of receipt, even though my bank is in the high street and i could deliver it by hand. Thanks again,
Paul
Hi Paul and your most welcome.
When both me and hubby although joint accounts with Lloyds, we had to request for separate SAR's, I noted on mine that some info was different to his etc, so yes £10 each, I would personally write 2 separate SAR letters, one for you and your wife and do this individually sort of thing in regards of the SAR, and of course your payments as well.;)
You can do post by recorded delivery for your proof of posting, I did, then you can track it down on the Royal mail website, keep a check on the 40 days they have in calendar days.
There is an address thread here, cheque this out to make sure you write to the dept you require.

Just an update.
Been reading my sisters letter detailing the offer from the bank and I found she had only relayed half of the info over the phone.
The bank have in fact offered to fully repay all PPI payments to date and put her back in the position where she had never taken the PPI at all.
The result- £1179 back in the bank and the remainder of the loan (16 months) reduced by £35/month.
Thanks for all your input! :beer:0 -

Hi all,
I'm after some advice again!;)
I'm in the process of reclaiming the ppi from yet another account of mine. This time it is from a defunct and defaulted old credit card that was originally taken out with Morgan Stanley Dean Witter in 2000. The Card was then sold to Goldfish and I defaulted shortly after that. Since then, the Goldfish portfollio has been sold on to Barclaycard. My account is now been bought by a DCA and is part of a DMP.
Now I know that you go after the original creditor for any ppi reclaim, but which one? Morgan Stanley applied the ppi to the account without even asking me, so in my eyes they are at fault. However, Goldfish bought them out and it was them who sold the debt to the DCA. Then there is the fact that Barclaycard took over all the old Morgan Stanley accounts after the account defaulted.
So who do I send the reclaim to? Morgan Stanley, Goldfish, or Barclaycard? MS who sold out to Goldfish. Goldfish who are now defunct but flogged the debt. Or Barclaycard who have never dealt with this account as it was sold to DCA before they bought the Goldfish portfollio?
Any ideas?

Hi there Cocker
I would personally pursue the first one, as they were the ones who sold you the finance, if any different they should write back to let you know.

Otherwise someone else may clarify on this but this is what I would do, good luck - please let us know how you get on, cheers.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Hiya,
Thanks for your reply.
This is what I would have thought, however I cant find an address for Morgan Stanley in the UK. All previous contacts details now redirect you to Barclaycard.
DCA also contacted Barclaycard for CCA when I asked for it. DCA sent original MS application plus current Barclaycard T's and C's.
The only address I can find online is for their American Offices!!!:rotfl:
I've read where other people have gone to Barclaycard for the refund, but these are accounts that were still active when they took over from Goldfish.
I'm a bit confused?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Your welcome
In your case contact the Financial ombudsman service (FOS) and ask if they are able to check this out for you, if you explain your situation, they will look into this and also ask them to write to them for you, they will check who and write on your behalf if you request for this.;)
(they will get to know who is responsible)
http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/contact/index.html
They may even tell you over the phone, don't think the FOS will be open until Monday now though, you could email them, but then you may be waiting for a while before they respond, as I am aware they have backlogs of emails to get through as well, so give them a call as soon as you are able to, good luck, please keep us posted.:)The one and only "Dizzy Di"
