Hi lucieloo
Hope your well.
I am aware you can request for the SAR from both lender and the broker and they will possibly supply you with the same documents, as the broker just basically does the work for the lender, so you will receive paperwork with the logos on of the lender.
I know this can be confusing.
So whoever sold you the loan is actually the ones you write to, if you hear nothing by 8 weeks it may be worth just contacting them to see if they are dealing with your complaint, but otherwise move on to the financial ombudsman service (FOS).
Of course if you had a loan advance then you pursue the lender, because these were the ones that sold you this actual loan.;)
So on the first loan you had a broker - write to these on that one and the lender on the advance loan, been there and done this myself on other providers.
Does this help?:);)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

this is the thing di i have paperwork from hfs and fp for both loans. i rang fp about the letter regarding the further advance and she said it was brokered by hfs. but i know for sure i rang fp first. the fos has written to both companies for me letting them know i have a complaint. its all so confusing. is it still possible fp are bluffing?
Well normally its whoever sold you the loan is the ones you write to, in your case in case they are bluffing contact the FOS by phone, explain your situation and ask if they are able to help on your behalf, they may write to them both on your behalf, or ask you to submit copies of anything you have to check who is responsible.

Maybe this way you will not be going round in circles any longer, give these a call hun.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hubby received an email from the FOS today in regards of his Credit Card 2001 to 2004 (PPI) which was resolved about Nov - DEC 2009, hubby had been chasing Lloyds up on this as no refund received as yet.
However, the FOS made contact with then, then the ombudsman got back to hubby with an email here:Dear MrI have received a call from Lloyds today advising that they are currently waiting for your redress calculations to be completed. I requested that they supply me with an exact timescale as soon as possible as they could not give me this at present, they did however say that it would be a couple of weeks.
I will keep you updated on this matter. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any queries or for updates.
Kind Regards

Can I just say that although it has seemed in the recet past that the corporations had the cards stacked on their side, I hear on the news regularly that laws are changing, folks like us are getting money back. It's not all bad news.
I liked hearing today that they recognise high street banks are a dying breed. I know that if that the erstwhile system of credit scoring (as it has obviously failed everybody) is also on the way out and a new form of decision-making is being explored.
After all, its a safe bet that such a large proportion of UK people have defaults as a result of this recession that if any company wants to stay in busness they will need to re-think their criteria.0 -
I have now written 2 letters to GE Money requesting copies of my Loan documents. The second letter written on 25th January was giving them a further 14 days (up to Monday 8th Feb). This was for a loan taken out in August 2007 via Cavendish Finance. Cavendish went into liquidation not long after I took my loan out so I can't get anything from them.
I have my end of year statements and the first one states that on the loan of £25,500 the opening balance was £27,086.99. I called GE to query this to ask if there was PPI on it, but they said there wasn't but would look into the situation. I never heard anything so I sent the letter requesting the loan documents.
It now appears that apparently Cavendish broke several rules on arranging loans such as not sending out the 8 day "coling off" letter when the loan was arranged (never got one of these, should I have?).
I'm wondering what happens next if GE don't supply the relevant documents by Monday? Is my next route to the FOS?0 -
