Marshallka you have me totally wrong, I haven't a clue about Tiggrae's claim company,I just knew her here.
I was agreeing with you that anyone can get set up and take peoples money for something that is done on these forums.
I started with a claims company and would have lost a lot of money if I had continued with them and they wouldn't have even gone as far as the courts.
When they wrote back and said it had to go to the FSCS if I hadn't cancelled them then and there I would have been paying them 25% for doing nothing.
That is 25% of the amount that would have been taken off the loan that I wouldn't have seen and so I would have owed the claim company money!!!
They don't explain that, I had to query it after I read it on another forum, they said I could pay them it by dIRECT DEBIT!!!!!
So believe me Marshallka I am as wary as you as I nearly ended paying a claim company £5000.
I "help" (or try to but it seems that my help is not wanted anymore and I have to consider that maybe you are all right and I cannot fight you any longer cause that is what my being here feels like "A FIGHT" against you instead of being in the same boat - you and others have made it quite clear to me in your own way that you do not want me here as I see it) to a point on here myself and then can go no further other than to say "you may have to get outside help" but would never recommend a company to anyone. Its up to the individual to do that for themselves. If you recommend and its bad advice then what??
If it were me and someone had recommended another company and that company turned out to be a sham then I would be annoyed at the "recommender". I could only recommend if that company worked out for me. As you say "tiggrae" helped you loads on here. Then you are actually promoting her in a way as she helped in your case. Thats great what you are doing here. There are lots of you that have had help from Tiggrae and I was an objective to your cause. I even got accused of causing tiggrae to not come on here. That was not true. I only asked her what someone was asking me to ask her in a PM and it was something that was a touchy subject to some. The unfair rebates that she was telling people to make claims for. Now fair enough it CAN be a complaint but if you know HOW to help and its not for personal gain then you would. I asked her lots of times to tell us how if it was not for personal gain. She did but it WAS wrong in the end for the OMBUDSMAN and she knew that we were making our complaints there. To say I a little annoyed is an understatement. I am sure that I will be "kicked" back down again for this but I really don't care. You got help, I didn't. You think someone like that is wonderful and perhaps more help to the cause but others could disagree.

I never really agreed but gave her the benefit of the the doubt and did listen. More than anything it cost me TIME and time is VERY precious to some. Others may have lots of it but like I say some have not.

Hi Masmit
How are you getting on with your claim?:wave:0 -
Ok.. Claims Management Companies. Agreed if they ask a fee then its not for free.
However, some legit companies avoid the PPI market for fear of being tarred with the same brush as those who simply use good rhetoric to pursue a claim in which you could pursue yourself.
But.. that being said some actually do good, and if you are a working family and dont have the time to fully research as to be honest if you calculated your time it would amount to more than what most of these companies charge.
Unfortunetly most of us lay persons do not have immediate access to the laws that are there to protect us, nor do we have the rhetoric to challenge a lender and win.
For this you pay a premium, now if you needed advice on a heating system or an electrical problem then you would of course hire a professional to do the work, likewise if you have a problem with your car, you can fix it yourself after spending day tinkering and researching hayes manuals, but lets all be honest most will take it to a garage and get it fixed and pay the price for the mechanics time as the mechanic would know more.
Now.. look at it from another point of view, if a claims company take a percentage of any compensation, then surely the 75% you get is better than nothing.
Because 75% of something is by all means better than 75% of nothing.
But I do agree its almost impossible with out recommendation to choose such a company as some might just be inexperienced and you to them are a training exercise.
Then we have companies who do the leg work for the solicitors. They look at the risks and based on their experience they will go into this with a view of taking it to court, whereas you or I would threaten court action but it would be an empty threat, these companies deal with these lenders every day so when they say COURT, the companies listen.
I have researched this to the point of speaking to 20 of the top google listed firms, basically with a view of helping our members, and out of the 20 I found 1 positive and 1 Possible, and have started in depth dialogues with them.
One firm has my case now, and I would not recommend a company to whom I would not use myself.
Fortunetly these firms are NO FEE, because of investors and the lawyers being able to take out ATE insurance. These people take on the same workload for every case as you do yourself, however the success rate is ultimatley higher.
We are conditioned in the UK to right off (ambulance chasers), whereas other companies embrace them.
So lets get it straight and re-condition our minds here. Everyone deserves access to justice, and if it means paying a professional to do it then so be it.
However, bear in mind that most of these NEW claims companies used to be loan brokers, IFAs and such, and getting into this market is to make money. Which could be a good thing or a bad thing depending how you spin it.
So.. in conclusion.. :-) if you do decide to go down the route of taken on a professional make sure they are backed by a firm of solicitors, and be sure that they have successes from the lenders in which you are fighting, but most importantly make sure you have been given the details from someone who has used and won with this firm.
Marshalka said that no business helps for free, and while true if they did help for free then it would not be a business. Yes someone pays down the line, THE LENDER ultimately.
Just know that inexperience can be more expensive than experience.
Anyway.. Playing Devils Advocate, as I would not personally use a company that pursued with the ombudsmen, only because I know my case better than they would.
I would however happily use a company backed with a law firm. And it should also be noted that some people on here are in great hardship, with a repossession looming, these people should be seeking legal advice in the first instance and not trying to go it alone.0 -
marsha, your posts too me are getting very argumentative without cause.the posts your replying too are helpful & not in anyway against what your saying. it seems your very bitter & your rants are at the wrong people.
ps sorry if this offended you in any way and was certainly not supposed to do. It would be a dull world if there was only one way of doing something.0 -
