hi i was wondering if you could help. where do i send a sar request to for first plus? is it the adress off their homepage? and where do i get a sar request form from?
Hi lucieloo, you would send it to the address on the homepage as you say and there is a template here

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1475553

Send it by recorded delivery and you then give them 40 days to comply with it.;)

Hi lucieloo, if its a joint application for the SAR then you only send one £10 to them BUT both of you have to sign the request as they would omit all the information on the other otherwise.

My FP loan was taken in 2000 but I still received a SAR from them BUT not all the information was there in it. They did not have phone calls (So they say:rolleyes:) and it may be the same with you (they said they did not record them in 2000:rolleyes:) but still what they do send is a good read and it was worthwhile to me.

    Good luck

It was actually through a broker so I did not have a complaint with FP and it was very complicated. Yes, I got some justice but like I say, ling story.;)

I think you have a good chance though as FOS are upholding 99% of FP complaints.
  • can anybody help me please , any advice greatly recieved.
I have just recieved a reply 8 weeks after sending off my first letter to reclaim my ppi.
The reply says have find no evidence to support my claim, but, as a gesture of goodwill they will repay all the insurance paid by me so far plus 8% interest.
BUT, they will only pay this off my account and therefore towards this loan i am still paying. I have no idea what to do .........
I felt i was totally ripped off when i took this loan in the first place, as it was my first one and i was very nieve or thick ! They told me i had no credit rating which was true, so therefore would have to be put on the highest interest rate. They assured me after 6 months or so this would be looked at again as i would then have a credit rating . What a fool, 3 yrs on into a 5 yr loan i am still on the highest rate because they will not look at it unless i take out another loan with them !!!!!!
what should i do ???? should i go to one of thos legal firms that i keep seeing advertised ?

Hi all - long time no speak, but I have had my reply and they uphold my claim (to recap - first plus loan with PPI for 5 years, get all bck if you don't claim, but you borrow upfront and it added to loan and interest is charged on total for whole period of loan).

Can you help me with the jargon, before I accept?

" A full refund of the insurance premium of £9796.00 plus interest paid on the premium to date* will be applied to reduce the balance of your loan and the part of your monthly payments made towards the PPI Premium will be returned to you. The monthly payments due will then be rescheduled accordingly" * = Figures to be calculated on receipt of the signed acceptance form.

So, in laymans terms, my loan gets reset as though I never had PPI, and I get back each payment I have made over the last 4 years? The interest repayments will be applied to my loan - they don't however mention the 8% statutory interest? Should I accept?

    Hello there.

If your not happy with the decision you should be able to write back.

Or in the case of them refunding directly to your account and have no arrears, tell them you are requesting that they refund this directly to you, if there are arrears, this is what they do tend to do, but otherwise write to request for them to refund to you.

Do you know what the amount is they are offering?
If its not far off the normal amount, maybe you could if you want to consider accepting this.
If not ask them if they could at least reconsider your complaint for a higher offer.

Either way, good luck, please let us know how you get on.
Remember as well you can always take your complaint to the FOS, but please be aware this may take some time due to huge volumes of these complaints and backlogs.
    Good luck.;)
