I will phone them again tmrw & take it from there. It may well be due to postal strikes. Will keep you posted. Thanks, Gill
With pleasure.;)

I sent my first letter off (recorded delivery) to the RBS a week ago. Does anyone know how long you usually have to wait to get some sort of response from them? I know they have 8 weeks and with the postal strikes i certainly didnt expect a response by now, just wondered what the general time scale seems to be. Thanks.0

Hi there
Some may vary from one bank to another, although you may receive a letter of acknowledgent - to confirm they have received your letter of complaint, and they may give their own timescale to when you should hear, as some say by 14 days, even though they are aware they do have the 8 weeks, so hopefully you will receive a good result way before the 8 weeks, fingers crossed for you.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
I took out several loans but over 6 years ago - to be honest i really dont remember the conversations though im fairly sure i was told either i could only have the loan with insurance or that it was at a higher rate. It was with A&L. Im guessing there is no chance of calls recorded then being available that i could request to see what was said?0

Hi there
It is very unlikely that you will receive copies of calls if going back as far as 6 years, but there is no harm in asking.
Have you tried requesting a Subject Access Request (SAR), where they have 40 days to comply and send everything they hold on your account?
With this request you enclose £10 postal order or cheque payment.
Link here to the SAR template.

Good luck, hope it is a positive result for you and the wait isn't too long.0 -

Thank you. Ive tried to read the stickies etc but there is so much information. From your experience with such limited recollection of events is there any point going ahead through this process? Im imagining that i need to be able to recall the events and the fact im not sure on a basic point appears to me to be fruitless?0
