hi, i have gone through the fos and won my claim against mint (rbs) and am awaiting payment, the thing i want to know is, has anyone else won against rbs via the fos and what interest did they refund you, did they give 8% compound? 8% simple? and finally did they give contractual interest in the refund?

    thanks

Hi there and well done on this.:T:beer:
Many on here have been successful with MINT to what I know of (RBS), have you also checked on the Success thread?;)

For how the FOS calculates refunds, Maxdp posted a thread here on how:

Hope this helps you for now, until someone hopefully posts up to confirm this for you.;)

Reading on another thread in regards of insurance......someone have stated this here:

"In some circumstances where an Insurer Seller is deemed as acting as an Agent for the Insurance provider". Which is always recommended to check on this, but have been the case, depending on the policy you have and what it states on there.

Looking back on mine, it is Hamilton then, as confirmed on the PPI policy details, when this comes to insurance complaints is write to them.

Yet when the FOS wrote to them they said it was someone else, yet the FOS did not have my policy details then.
I should send a copy off or by email as well and highlight this to them.

    What do you think?

You are being redressed for the full amount by the looks of things. (I did post a post and deleted as I thought the gesture was a lesser amount) so I would just get the FOS to intervene again if nothing happens shortly.

    Good luck

Yep, they have accepted to pay the full amount back plus £200 for distress.

All i get backfrom the Ombudsman is that he has contacted MBNA and will provide me with an update when it is availalble.

I have decided that the end of October (which feels like forever away) is my deadline or it goesback to the FOS : (

I posted up here a few weeks ago to say that I had succesfully won back all ppi & interest for my friend on her M & S cc. She promptly filled in the accept form & chose to have the money paid directly into her bank account & has been keeping an eye on it for payment. Today she got her M & S statement & they had paid the money back to her card (she wasn't in arrears & never has been) She wasn't too bothered about this as she wants to get the balance cleared anyway but the fun bit was guess what they have still added to the account? That's right PPI:mad:
    Have they no sense:confused:

It can take a month to be cancelled, but they should refund that premium too.

OMG, now this is so damn annoying........, if there were arrears then yes understandable, but they mis sold your friend and should be putting this right, she have already been out of pocket due to this, but surely they should have refunded this directly to your mate.

I would tell your mate to maybe write to them and complain on how this was dealt with and if they do not change this by paying this direct, your mate can still complain to the FOS, I'm sure this can be done in this case here.

She was going to phone them to say but I am thinking of sending a letter along the lines of 'due to the ongoing torment they are putting her through.....going to FOS......health suffering etc. Might be a couple of M & S vouchers in it for her or am I just being greedy
