She was going to phone them to say but I am thinking of sending a letter along the lines of 'due to the ongoing torment they are putting her through.....going to FOS......health suffering etc. Might be a couple of M & S vouchers in it for her or am I just being greedy
I think by putting everything down in writing is the best way, but a phone call would do no harm either.
With what your mate have been through here, she deserves something, the way this was done though I am confused, no that's not being greedy, your mate have been through a tough time by the sounds of it.The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi melorblack - When I sent the reclaiming letter I added the line
I am also giving you 7 days from date of letter to cancel this PPi
They can't cancel it in 7 days, normally with a credit card, they cancel the insurance but it takes 30 days to come into effect so another premium is usually charged in this time. This should have been included in the refund but if it wasn't they need to give that back too.0 -
Thanks Mel.:D;)
I found paperwork from my old Endeavour loan, the broker Click Finance dissolved in 2006, and cannot take to the FSCS as they were not governed when I taken out the loan in July 2004, this loan we settled in Nov 2005, it was for over 25 years and we were mis sold the ppi, which covered only for 5 of those years.
Anyhow, I came across the PPI policy last night and see that the insurer was Hamilton, it states anything that relates to insurance or complaints must go to Hamilton themselves, but originally when the FOS tried this for us before by writing to them they said no, so we went no further with this one.
But now finding these details, it seems it should be Hamilton we should be complaining to who were governed as from 2001.
If you check a few posts back, I have posted some info on what it says on the policy, and about both Hamilton and Endeavour being protected by the FSA where we can go to the FOS if complaint not resolved, but this is an issue - because the lender Endeavour told us they were not covered by the FOS, of when we tried also complaining to them last year on this matter.
If you want me to post that again about the insurers let me know or you will find the post on the page before this one or so.;)
Thanks and sorry if this is a a long confusing post.......:oThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Here is part of it here Mel thanks.;)
Also in the paperwork a copy of the PPI policy, and for Customer care, requests or complaints it states
Complaints concerning this policy should be sent to
Customer Services Department
Hamilton Insurance
PO Box 4718
Birmingham
B1 3RF.
If your not satisfied with the handling or your complaint have not been resolved within 8 weeks please write to "our chief executive at Hamilton Insurance, North St, Winkfield, Windsor, Berkshire, SL4 4TD".
After writing to the Chief Executive, and remain dissatisfied or your complaint have not been resolved within 8 weeks, you can approach the Financial Ombudsman Service..............
This is signed then from the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer
"in respect of the Unemployment Insurance and in respect of Disability insurance where the initial term is less than 5 years where you pay disability premium.
Signed on behalf of Hamilton Life Assurance Company Limited
In respect of Life Insurance and in respect of Disability Insurance where the initial term is 5 years.
Hamilton company number: 1656838
It then states that they are authorised and regulated by the FSA, incorporated with limited liability and members of the Association of British insurers and the FOS.
Endeavour personal finance and the insurers are connected as they are both members of the same group of companies. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Did this information come from the policy booklet? If it did it may be about complaints about the way the insurance works, not the way it was sold.
The mis sale complaint should go to whoever sold you the policy, but if they are all saying they're not responsible for it I would write to everyone until someone does something.
That's really annoyed me that no-one has taken responsibility yet!!! :mad:0 -

Thanks Mel.
It states about any complaints and its a 3/4 page A4 policy booklet that we had to request for separately that did not come back with the SAR, we had to request for this without the SAR.
Yeah been in circles with this one.
And the annoying thing is we can't take it to the broker called Click Finance as they dissolved, even though they have many other Click finance loan companies, same directors and everything, they told me they cannot do anything about it, and so annoying because they are still working for Click loan businesses here and there.
Will keep trying though.
Cheers for checking this out Mel, much appreciated.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
