PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

Hi chellie and yes you can.
For example I had a loan with Nemo personal finance to consolidate then a year later we had a loan advance, they did though give a substantial rebate from the first loan for the new loan with them, but as due to this being mis sold we are reclaiming the remainder of approx £800 etc back from the broker who sold the first loan.
May I ask if this is the case for you as well, for using a broker for the first loan?
You may have had a good rebate as well, but either way if you did or didnt by taking out a further loan with them, you can still try to reclaim on it, so maybe it will be worth checking any paperwork you may still have on these loans, if not request they send you a detailed breakdown on the loan you ended then to have a consolidation.
Hope this helps.;)
I still have the copy of my old loan contract with HSBC it was not with any broker and as far as i know the PPI on my loan was 2k plus. And today i noticed that they rebated £115.21 only on my account. Is it worth it?can i write them that the amount was not fair for me?how will i go through the next letter? Thanks Di for the guidance..
Thanks for your hepl,

I would let the adjudicator know that your complaint is actually for the 5 loans and until all are looked into and adjudicated then you do not accept. I think co-op seem to do this goodwill on just one loan in the hope that some settle for it (and I bet they do) but if you have 5 with them and all sold the same way then your complaint is for all of them. It will be up to the adjudicator now to actually adjudicate in the complaint if co-op do not budge from the one loan and from my own experience they often will settle them all if you have all the paperwork or they do also.Hi everyone
My OH has put in a PPI reclaim with the Cooperative Bank and it's got to the financial ombudsman stage.
We've had a letter today from the FO saying the Coop are prepared to settle the complaint on a "Good Will Basis" as long as we cancel the insurance, which is OK as the loans do not exist anymore
There is a letter that we have to send back stating "I confirm my acceptance of the offer made by The Cooperative Bank outlined in your letter, in a full and final settlement of my complaint"
My OH has just rang the FO and they have said that the only have the details for one loan, not the FIVE that we gave them the information for and they are going to get someone to ring us back.
There is no indication of how much they are offering him
What do we do? Do we say we'll wait for the lot or do we take this and fight for the rest?0 -

Hi Chellie, so that was the rebate then?
If so you then I would say go for the remainder of the PPI etc, yes it's worth it.
Just remind me please, you have already sent the first letter haven't you?The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Good DAy!thanks for the reply. yes, I have sent the first letter last august 11, 2009, looking at the lod documents the PPI amount loan wa £2316.81 that is 10.9%APR for 60 months. Can you please calculate for me how much do you think supposed to be claim from my old PPI. Thank you so much Di. And then I write the second letter to them?0 -

Hi Chellie,;)
I'm not good at working out calculations, maybe Marshallka could take a look at these for you, she is good at working these out, Marshallka may just need a few more details etc.
However, you do not need to write the figures (amount for the letter), but you could ask them to post you a detailed breakdown through the post, they should be able to do this for you on request.
So this letter would be another letter for this reclaim then? But separately.
Basically if you have the same reasons for the other loan ppi, you write the same as you did for the one you have already sent.;)
Maxdp posted up a useful link on here on how the FOS calculates refunds,
mostly the same method used directly by the banks etc, check it out here:

You don't need to add figures to the complaints letters. You only need to outline your actual reasons for complaining.chellie2009 wrote: »Good DAy!thanks for the reply. yes, I have sent the first letter last august 11, 2009, looking at the lod documents the PPI amount loan wa £2316.81 that is 10.9%APR for 60 months. Hi, just read the sars letter. I have written to egg regarding old loan agreements and fees. I did this using the letter on on the reclaiming website and sent the cheques. The accounts are now closed and they have sent me back my cheques and a letter stating that under the consumer credit act they are not obliged to suppy copies of my agreements. Can anyone advise0

If the accounts are actually settled now then they do not have to actually provide these agreements but you can request them in a SAR. I assume you actually sent them £1 for the agreements and not a full Subject Access request for the charge of £10. If it was the SAR you had requested and the accounts are over 6 years old since you settled then again, they do not have to supply them. They are only obliged to keep records for a maximum of 6 years since closing any accounts.debtfreemission wrote: »Hi, just read the sars letter.
