    Hi everyone
    Hello there ;)

My OH has put in a PPI reclaim with the Cooperative Bank and it's got to the financial ombudsman stage. Very good to hear this.

We've had a letter today from the FO saying the Coop are prepared to settle the complaint on a "Good Will Basis" as long as we cancel the insurance, which is OK as the loans do not exist anymore
Fair enough as there is no loans anyway.

There is a letter that we have to send back stating "I confirm my acceptance of the offer made by The Cooperative Bank outlined in your letter, in a full and final settlement of my complaint"
Have they given you a timescale on this?

My OH has just rang the FO and they have said that the only have the details for one loan, not the FIVE that we gave them the information for and they are going to get someone to ring us back.
Have the FOS said they are also dealing with the other loan ppi complaints as you have also complained on them as well?
Maybe the FOS have split them, they should be able to confirm this, give them another call I would just to make sure.

There is no indication of how much they are offering him
I would maybe as well contact the bank involved and request they send you the calculations in details of the breakdown, they should do this on request, normally now if anything is amiss and your payment does not seem right the adjudicator dealing with your case will double check on this and if anything else is owing they will make sure the bank sends you a separate cheque, this had happened to me a year or so back.

What do we do? Do we say we'll wait for the lot or do we take this and fight for the rest?
I would again ask the adjudicator on this, tell them your unsure what you have to do in this case.

Hope the FOS can resolve this for you, good luck and please keep us posted. Cheers.;)

Just thought I'd write a quick post to fill some of you with hope - after a lot of "to and fro" with the Funding Corporation they have finally agreed to pay back the £610.08 in PPI and Personal Accident Insurance that was not only misold to me on the basis it was compulsory even though I had cover through work, front loaded and forms filled out fraudulently. I am just wrangling with them to get some interest on the money as this alltook place 5 years ago. I must point out that they haven't actually admitted any of the reasons just that "in the spirit of goodwill" they want to settle it. They have even tried to say that I didn't make all the payments, after THEY sent me proof that I had!! Perseverance really is the key

They have requested the letter get back to them before the 17th September or we get in touch with them before then to say yes we are taking it/no we're not

All the complaints are with the Cooperative Bank and when we sent the forms into the FOS we clearly stated that there was more than one loan and gave them all the details about them

Everytime he tries to get in touch with the PPI department at the Coop he's waiting for ages on the phone, this afternoon it was 20 minutes and he hung up as he couldn't wait anymore

Thanks for the help so far :)

  • Back in 2003 I took out a loan with HSBC to consolidate which included within it a loan with EGG. I can not remember whether the EGG loan had PPI with it or not and do not have any of the details of the loan anymore.

What is the best way to go? Is it worth it?
The loan was for 10K so if there was PPI i would imagine it was a decent amount.

    Hi there, ;)

Write to request a true copy of your agreement also known as a CCA, enclose a £1 postal order or cheque payment, tell them you look forward to receiving your CCA by 12 days, and post by recorded delivery, this is your proof of posting.

When you request for this your account number would help, but if you no longer have this, also give them as many details as possible, such as your date of birth and different addresses and surnames at the time you taken this out.
However, if you have any old bank statements, the direct debits will be shown on them, when they debited the repayments the account number should be shown next to them payments made.

I would defo go for it, good luck.;)

When your ready to reclaim, with your reasons for how you believe you were mis sold, write them in your letter, you do not need to write the amounts at this time, and they have 8 weeks to respond, for more information check this link below, which includes a mis selling checklist and template letters, and remember as well post by recorded delivery.

Good luck and please keep us posted.

Not sure if that this have already been posted or not.
    http://www.fsa.gov.uk/pages/Library/Communication/PR/2009/116.shtml

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has today for the first time published aggregate figures showing how many complaints regulated firms have received and how they have dealt with them.
As part of the FSA’s wider commitment to publishing more information about firms and industry sectors, this data covers:
    • the volume of complaints firms have received, by product type and cause of the complaint, e.g. delays and misleading advice; and
    • how firms have handled complaints, including the speed of complaints-handling and the proportion of complaints that have been upheld by firms.
The data published today covers 2006-2008 and indicates that the overall number of complaints has increased by 5.7% over this period. The speed of firms’ complaints handling and the proportion of complaints upheld by firms remained fairly stable over the period - at the end of 2008, 10% of complaints took longer than eight weeks to resolve and 40% of complaints were decided in customers’ favour.
Dan Waters, the FSA’s director of retail policy and conduct risk, said:
"Transparency is an important regulatory tool. Publishing this information will mean that consumers and firms can now see how many complaints the industry receives and how it deals with them. This is stage one of our drive to say more about how the industry handles complaints and builds on our recent proposals, currently out for consultation, about the publication of firm-specific data.
"We expect firms to treat customers fairly by dealing with complaints promptly and efficiently. We are focusing even more attention, particularly through intensive supervision, on ensuring that firms are dealing with complaints properly."
The FSA plans to publish aggregate data covering the first half of 2009 in October, and will then publish updates every six months after that.
This industry-level information complements the FSA’s proposals to publish firm-specific complaints data, set out in July, which would enable people to see how individual firms are handling complaints.

    Hi to everyone,

    Can anyone help?

    1st PPI

Credit Card - Clydesdale Bank - PPI paid from Dec 04- Feb 07,
    Total = £692.67

Sent my reclaim letter away last week. Reclaiming for General Mis-selling
How does the interest rate worked with this? The payments were all different. What dates do I claim interest from and to?
