  • Hi Leanne! I'm in a similar situation to you with N.R. Be warned - it's been 10 wks for me and no final response as yet. They say that they are inundated, which I'm sure they are, considering that they are at the forefront of this scam! I've been promised a final response in the post tomorrow. Best of luck and keep at it!

    Hi there

Just a suggestion, as they have had more than ample time to deal with your complaint, as you know they normally have 8 weeks, you can still continue to take your complaint to the FOS, this way your not wasting any time with these, then of course if you do hear in the meantime with a good result, you just let the FOS know, however if they did get back and did not resolve in your favour, you already then made a start with the FOS.

In the complaint form to the FOS, you can just tell them for now that the 8 weeks have passed and they have not resolved your complaint in this time.

    Hope this helps.
    Good luck.;)

  • Hello! I agree. I've filled my claim form already. I actually phoned them to confirm details on Friday and when I mentioned it was for the FOS they promised that a final response would be posted first class on Monday! I'm not holding my breath, but if it isn't here by Wednesday the complaint goes to the FOS. Cheers though!

Good Morning Everyone! Ooooooo I'm feeling very nervous! Ive sent a complaint letter to a car firm who I took PPI out with. They have said no to my call for repayment. Sent another letter and their response is final. Ive filled in form for Ombudsman but feel very nervous. The car firm say I signed for PPI and signed to say I took the PPI without advice and that I had read the t&c. I say they didn't discuss the policy with me and that I have a medical condition. What do you think?

    Anyone with LoanMakers?

A mate of mine posted about this on another site, so thought I would post here.
    http://www.thebusinessdesk.com/northwest/news/15809-loanmakers-customers-wait-for-compensation.html?news_section=4148

    Loanmakers customers wait for compensation.

INDIVIDUALS who claimed they were mis-sold payment protection insurance by the collapsed Bolton loan broker Loanmakers are still waiting for compensation.
Loanmakers fell into administration in February crippled by some 450 claims worth more than £2m for the insurance that was deemed to be unfair to customers.
The Financial Ombudsman Service found in favour of all the claims that were referred to it, but the company's collapse has left it unable to make payouts.

  • I am still waiting on my letter from WF with the amount they are paying back and the breakdown, but I noticed on my bank statement they are still taking the full payment of £320 out should I phone them and find out what my new payment will be as they said in the letter they would be cancelling my PPI and giving me a note of what my settlement would be am a bit stuck as I was in arrears with the payments of £261.59 and have paid £320 for the last 8 months to catch up on the arrears - hoping that once they calculate and take all the interest charges and default charges off me that I wont be owed them anything fingers crossed.

Received my compensation cheque from BOS last week for £100 so right into the bank it went lol.

Sent the form away for hubbys claim to Black Horse so just waiting on payment. Getting there sloooowly but getting there just waiting on replies from Halifax about the 3 loans then going to tackle the 6 credit cards lol oh the joys.......hehe

    Hi Hun
    So your still waiting then.
I would contact them and ask them about this and anything they do take off you now, also make sure they refund on that as well.
I agree it would help if they do this for you in regards of the default, at times like this, it's not your fault, times have been difficult, so hopefully they will be lenient on this for you, fingers crossed.

    Hi everyone

My OH has put in a PPI reclaim with the Cooperative Bank and it's got to the financial ombudsman stage.

We've had a letter today from the FO saying the Coop are prepared to settle the complaint on a "Good Will Basis" as long as we cancel the insurance, which is OK as the loans do not exist anymore

There is a letter that we have to send back stating "I confirm my acceptance of the offer made by The Cooperative Bank outlined in your letter, in a full and final settlement of my complaint"

My OH has just rang the FO and they have said that the only have the details for one loan, not the FIVE that we gave them the information for and they are going to get someone to ring us back.

There is no indication of how much they are offering him

What do we do? Do we say we'll wait for the lot or do we take this and fight for the rest?
