PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

  • Hi

I am looking for advice. Not surewif I am ellibgible to claim back PPI or not.

I have a loan with NatWest that was taken out in 2005, when I was working for them. It replaced a lone I held with them already and consolidated some other debts, it came about as I was going through financial hardships and had been having some dificullties at work. I approched my manager for assistance and they put through a loan application for me including the PPI, I had had this on my previous loan but they did not ask me if I wanted it on my current one so when I saw it had been added I thought that as it had been arranged through them and I was an employee that it was mandatory.

I have since left employment at NatWest, and successfully claimed back £1600 of fees and penalty charges on my bank account. I am not sure if I have cancelled the PPI on the loan (as I know I did cancel the one on my Credit card as I realised I was then being ripped off and had never been informed of how and what to claim for).

    Is it worth trying?

I also think that my first loan with Natwest was missold as the girl who put through my application took into account money I recieved into my account from my partner for household bills as income. i did not realise this until it was mentioned when I re did the loan.

    Hi
    Hello and welcome,;)

I am looking for advice. Not surewif I am ellibgible to claim back PPI or not.
Not a problem, there are many reasons for mis selling, it's worth checking for more info on this link here:

Seems like they added this automatically then, I would try to request for some paperwork on both loans, in case there is also any PPI to reclaim from the first one as well, minus any rebate if any when taking out a further loan with them.
A SAR may be useful in this case, I will post the link for this template below for you.

Well don on your reclaiming on the fees and charges, hopefully you will be successful with PPI reclaiming as well if eligible.

    Definately.

I would definately give it a go then on any of the loan ppi you were mis sold, if you had 2 loans with the same company just write to reclaim on the same letter, if the same mis selling reasons, but remember to also enclose both account numbers.
Firstly linki here to guidelines of PPI reclaiming, with a checklist of mis selling reasons, templates etc, if you need further help please post up.

For an SAR (Subject access Request), they should send you everything as requested on the letter, as much as possible, you do have to enclose a £1 postal order or cheque payment for this request and they have 40 days to comply.

Remember to send all letters by recorded delivery - this is your proof of posting.

Good luck and please keep us posted and ask for further help if required.;)

Its completely normal. They delay everything as long as they can within regulations.
  • Hi all - letter from the FOS advising that Sainsburys have to contact me within 4 weeks to confirm details of the sum they are due to resolve my case. All sounding good at this stage!
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

  • Hi, Have been on the site quite a bit and have eventually started trying to reclaim some money the first being egg ppi insurance which is quite a lot of money. I had a copy of one of my loan agreements as it was a top up. This agreement I have a copy of. I wrote to egg asking to reclaim and they told me as it was taken out on line I could not. However the quote was only on line and the rest was done on the phone as was the previous agreements. The other thing I noticed is an error on the agreement in that although I have signed where they asked me to I have not ticked the box for PPI. I am currently waiting on copies of the other loan agreements but am wondering if anyone could give me any advice regarding the above. egg have told me to go to the ombudsman.

    Any advice welcome:confused:

    Hello and welcome.;)

It may be a good idea to write to them to request for a copy of the telephone recordings, and ask them to send to you for as soon as possible, and if they cannot provide them also tell them to explain why not.

If you received the final decision, then I would now to the FOS for them to investigate, and also enclose a copy of the correspondence and anything you have to support your case.
You can download a form from the FOS site or ring them to arrange for them to send you this through the post.

The FOS will look into everything for you.

Good luck and please keep us posted.;)

  • Thanks,

For the advice, Will get a letter of over the weekend for telephone recordings and wait for the previous agreement. I am hoping that the fact I did not tick the box for PPI will help my case. will keep everyone posted.
