When I rang them the other day they confirmed they had all the information and my claim had a priority sticker on it and was being worked on that day!! (Although I found this a little hard to beleive). So as far as I am aware they have got it. I will still give them a call re the cheque and just to make sure they have the right information.;)
Just another thought I had  How could they pay it to the loan if picture has gone into default?

    Hi all

Just to let you know I contact Lloyds TSB today as I've still not heard and they advised me that a final response was sent to me dated 07 August. I've asked them to send it out again as I never received it. I'm having problems with my mail ... last thing I need!

I can't see the outcome being favourable, so any suggestions as to what I should do if I'm refused? Can I apply to the FOS, is it a form I fill in, do I need any paperwork as I have none.

I've got no paperwork, just know that I was transferred to a mastercard from a visa card and never completed any application form to indicate payment protection and this visa card was a card which originally was a TSB card but became a Lloyds TSB when they merged many years ago. Again I was never given a choice to have Payment protection on my card and it was just applied.

    All info greatly appreciated.

    Jools

Got my knock-back letter today. Apparently Payment protection is not compulsory with a credit card and that I could have cancelled it.
I'm going to call them tomorrow as my main argument is why is it applied to your card in the first place!! I had my standard visa card account transferred in Feb 08 to a Lloyds TSB airmiles duo credit card and I still have the original booklet they sent me welcoming me and at the back of the booklet it has a section on card security which says the following:

"We provide a range of optional security services to offer further protection for you and your credit cards". And then in bold "To take out these services simply call us and we'll do the rest" ... mmm don't recall any phone call requesting this optional security service.

Surely it's not common practice to apply it and then opt out?? or is it??

    What do you think?

    Hi there

This is Lloyds tsb standard fob off response, I would write back if this was not the final decision, tell them you still stand by your reasons in your first letter, and strongly believe it was mis sold.
If this was the final decision they should have enclosed details of the financial ombudsman service (FOS), if this is the case then I would take your complaint to them now.;)
    Good luck.

Was it because someone (Target???) took over the loan book of Picture????

A good thread here on it

Please dont worry Dialysis, if the FSCS says you are priority then they will be getting your info and working on it. Just call them to reassure yourself who is getting the cheque.

Wow beaniebabe, hope they were working on it that day, dont think anyone else has been told that.

    Hi
I have skimmed through this thread but it is huge so forgive me if I am asking something that has been asked before or is so obvious I should know better.
My question is being posed on behalf of my Mothers partner. He took out a loan with Lloyds in April 2005 for £10,000. The loan agreement also has Optional loan protection insurance, cash price £1789.79 with interest of £323.29.
I know nothing about loans or PPI but it seems to me his circumstances don't quite add up with what he might get back. He is a 74 year old pensioner. He works casually part time as a HGV driver, I don't think he has a contract its just as and when needed.
The specific reason given on the recommendations page states he needed the PPI "to cover for critical illness and hospitalisation, has no mortgage but protection needed as does not want to leave debt"
Is this something I should be looking into on his behalf do you think? Or does it sound quite reasonable?
    Any advice or help appreciated.
Couldn't think of anything witty to say so just keeping the space until I can :(
