Yeah, I do feel misled but there is also the wider implications thing that has not had an answer as yet from the FSA to FOS BUT I thought my rebate complaint came under the old regs anyway. I really cannot wait for an answer on this one. I was annoyed at FOS but upon googling things it seems that is more the FSA that have dragged things out. Its like now where they are not fining companies soon enough so they continue to be deceitful.

The A and L fine was annoying. They fined them a certain amount but cause they had money there to pay it up front (other peoples money though) they got a 30% reduction. People on here would be able to reduce their interest if they had money up front to pay their credit off but they have not cause these companies are being allowed to drag their feet with payments. Something is wrong somewhere.
If we settle our loans early we are charged a penalty for doing it, not a reduction in the amount?????? WHY is it one rule for one and one for another.0 -

Nassie has rang A&L this morning, and has been told that no one has looked into her claim.
Yet she is suppose to have a respnse by the 24th of July which is Friday0 -

I have done an email to the FSA (don't know how to send this though) about the way they have treated the "settling early" of the fine imposed on Alliance and Leicester where they got a 30% reduction in the amount and yet when we have settled loans early we are then penalised for doing so.
Do you think I should send this? Is it just me here or is this very unfair???
Here is what I was going to send to them
I just wanted to know why it is that when you fined Alliance and Leicester for the PPI they were selling you gave them a 30% reduction for settling their fine early and yet these firms actually charged us a penalty (unfair penalty) when we settled early using the rule of 78 etc in both loans and PPI. Why is one rule for one and one for another?0 -
Thanks pinknico, lets hope they do see it the same, and good luck to dialysis - this could have been any one of us!!
xxx
I'm with Pinknico on this one....Both FOS and FSA have frowned on the whole Single Premium market and in my experience finance companies and agencies tend to run in packs - nobody wants to be seen to breaking with the consensus.
I can't imagine that the FSCS will be any different, however only time will really tell.0 -

Hi, by my calculations £4864.44 by way of a cheque to you for all PPI paid to date incl 8% interest.
The o/s loan will then be recalculated to a position as if you never took out the PPI at all when you took the loan, unfortunately its not as easy as just deducting the PPI payment from your loan payment but it gives you an indication. Also from looking at below link again, you may even get a compensation amount for the distress and inconvenience caused.
Hope this helps.

thank you so muchwow now that is a lot of money and boy do we need it at the moment!! but it only went to fos at beg of june so we are looking at next year before it is sorted maybe even year after, i cant believe how much it actually amounts to, but at least i know now what to accept if they did come to me with an offer but we are talking the rbs so i very much doubt that they will, they will stretch this out to the max.
thank you again0
