Hi all if egg or any company does not respond to the adjudicators findings do they then automaticly pass it on to the Ombudsman? If so what's the point in them not responding or making payment.Surly the FSA will find against them and maybe up the compo.
Hi
I had my claim with Egg upheld by the adjudicator who gave Egg ten days to respond to a fantastic letter he had written. He called me on the 11th day to say they hadn't responded and that it would now be passed to the ombudsman. Brilliant communication. I hope you have the same.
Fingers crossed.

sent a SAR request a while ago and as a result have been reclaiming ppi from lloyds tsb (again) and sent a letter over 9 weeks ago giving them 8 weeks to respond. I recieved a letter a month ago upholding one (only a small one) but they needed another 4 wks to 'gather all the information needed'. Anyway, hadn't heard anything so gave them a ring last week and was told a letter was already on it's way to me apologizing for the delay but they hadn't recieved all the documentation required. (huh, yeah i'm sure!!!). Well no such letter has arrived of course and I wonder if I should just skip the wait now as I feel they are stalling and take it straight to the FOS. Any advice gratefully recieved on this.0

Hi there
As long as the 8 weeks have passed you are entitled to move your case on to the FOS.
However, my experience with lloyds they do deal with these complaints last minute.
I wish you luck;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Thanks Di, it's strange how they can deal with one almost straight away and the other they need 'more time'.0

Hi - I am after a bit of advice.
I have written to Lloyds TSB in order to reclaim PPI sold to me under extreme pressure in 2004. I paid c£5k for this which was lumped onto the main loan amount so hate to think what amount I have paid in total, taking interest into consideration.
I had a number of letters from Lloyds telling me that they were looking into my claim but it was taking longer than expected. A couple of weeks ago they wrote to me again to tell me that they were still looking into the claim and they expected to resolve it soon but, as the official time limit had passed, I was welcome to write to the FOS. I gave them a bit more time but eventually completed the form and sent it back to the FOS last Friday. Lo and behold, when I got home from work that day I had received a further letter from Lloyds with an offer. Although they did not agree that I had been mis-sold, as I am such a valued customer of the bank they are willing to pay me c£1600. They did not state that this was a final offer but did say that if I was unhappy with the amount I could go to the FOS.
So, I dont really know what to do. I am not happy with the amount as it is considerably lower than I have paid out, however £1600 is not to be sniffed at at the moment! I am tempted to repond to them to ask them to reconsider but wasnt sure what I should do about the FOS as I have already sent my form off. Should I tell Lloyds that the FOS are already involved? Should I send a copy of the Lloyds letter to the FOS? Or should I continue to try and negotiate directly with Lloyds and not mention the FOS?
Sorry for all the questions. I am confused as cant imagine that Lloyds would give me an offer if they didnt think that I had a case with the FOS. On the other hand I dont want to lose out on £1600 if this is the best I can get.

Hi there
Not to worry about the questions, that's what we are here for.:D;)
Depending on how much the PPI was plus the interest, if the offer is too low, there is no harm in asking lloyds to reconsider a higher more reasonable offer, give them the maximum of 14 days to let you know in writing.
Its entirely up to you though.
I would still let the FOS know but tell them your not sure about accepting this or not yet.
How long has your case been with the FOS and do you know its its passed on to an adjudicator yet?The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Thank you for your response. The PPI cost was £5k + interest so quite a bit more than the offer of £1600 that I received.
I only sent my form to the FOS on Friday which is the same day that I recieved the letter from Lloyds and I imagine it will take a little while for them to process it.
I think that in the meantime I will write to Lloyds to ask them to up the offer and see what happens.
Thanks for your advice!!!0
