    Hi,

Is it normal to be credit checked by the company you are claiming against when raising a complaint?

Have moved in the last 6 months, so maybe this is a good sign.
  • Need a little advice before I send my first letter. Took out a loan in February 2006 for just shy of £9k, but remember PPI amounted to about £2k more on top.

I think I started my application online, but finished it on the telephone as there were three parts to the PPI and they removed the unemployment section as I am self-employed. What grounds should I be considering for my letter despite this? What homework would you experts recommend I do before submitting my case?

Also when reclaiming, does it comprise of three parts 1) the PPI payment 2) any interest paid on the PPI 3) the 8% court rate set by legislation?

    Thanks

    M

    Hi all,

Do I hold some kind of record with FOS?

Had barclaycard claim with them for a year now and ocean finance for 9 months. Everytime I e-mail them get told I'm in a queue and they deal with complaints in order of date they receive them in their department.

It just seems so slow especially when some people get dealt with in weeks.

These are my last 2 complaints with them and the others took about 4 to 5 months.

[FONT=Lucida Handwriting, Cursive]I sent the below email yesterday to FOS and again got no reply.

I am just so sick of being fobbed of and nothing happening or being ignored.

Not sure if I am now getting on the FOS's nerves. But no-one is explaining why the way loans.co.uk sell there loans now affects wether they mis-sold mine 5 years ago.

Can any-one suggest what I can do next?

I was wondering if the final dicision team had got any closer to resolving the technical problem with loans.co.uk?

I feel that if loans.co.uk are actually with holding information and therefore proventing my claim from going through that they should be made to pay more conpensation for the stress and anxiety they are causing me, if it is found that they mis-sold me PPI.

I also wondered how this technical problem in the way they sell loans now has any-thing to do with wether they mis-sold my PPI or not. To me they either did mis-sell it or they didn't and if they did they should be made to pay it back... not be given more time while something else is investigated.

I have been waiting over a year for this matter to be resolved and If it was me owing some-one else money I would have been taken to court by now and slapped with charges interest and court fees but companies are allowed to just with hold information and get away without paying for a year... While the very slow procedure of trying ot make a claim takes place.

I know none of this is your fault and I am sorry to keep venting my frustraitions to you. But it hardly seems fair to me... Would it to you if you were in my position?

Could you please pass all of these concerns on to the final decision team.

    Thank you so very much

  • I have read through the information regarding reclaiming PPI. Is it possible to reclaim this from loans that have been settled in the last few years.

    Thanks for any help.

Mlucyminx, I can understand your frustration. If you are suffering hardship then perhaps you could ask them to rush this forward for you. I know they do this if you send them details in. I myself am getting the same and although we are not as bad off as some we are getting deeper into debt as time goes on. All they say is " you are in the queue". You are not alone but just keep on at them (although stereo mike says it does put you bottom of the pile if you do that:confused:).

Yes, it makes no difference if your loan is settled or not.

Thats what i have been told last time I rang. They mentioned that this was with their technical advice department. I then said that after all these months does that mean they cannot look into this and now I have missed my chances of taking this through the courts too. They just said "its procedure". I will be fuming if this is not sorted soon.

You have to have your own reasons for misselling. There are lots within the section on Martins guide here

    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance

Just have a read through and see whether anything applies to you.

And yes, there are 3 parts to the PPI redress, the PPI, the interest on the PPI and 8% statutory interest too.

PS if you send the letter don't forget to send it recorded delivery as you always have a proof.
