Yes do request a copy of the telephone recordings, they should supply these to you on request.

I take it then it was sold over the telephone?

I would definately prepare a letter ready, to be honest in my opinion, just do it and send it, what you are waiting for can count for later.

Write to them using the template to help you through this, they have 8 weeks to respond, write in your own reasons, also in the final response they should give details of the Financial ombudsman service (FOS).

This is the same as what happened to me on my Aqua credit card. Follow your call up with a letter asking it to be refunded. In my case they had no record of me ever asking for it and refunded all the ppi payments. PUT EVERYTHING IN WRITING ALWAYS, KEEP A COPY AND SEND RECORDED. It will save you a lot of stress and anguish doing this straight away :-)

Hey all
Im fed up now and so angry.:mad: I originally called and complained about Welcome finance in February 2008 and posted complaint end March/April 2008. Has anyone got an adjudicator lately??? when was your claim dated??? everytime i call they say few more months few more months few more months! argh! i need to remortgage very soon but cant with this dead weight on my neck. Is there anyone whos in the queue too for the FO adjudicators for PPI been waiting longer than me??

Patience is a virtue i know but im at the end of my rope.:eek::eek: To top it all im reading Welcome finance have closed their car branches and are in difficulty...

Updates please? Cheers

This seems to be taking a very long time.

So over a year and still waiting for the first adjudicator?

I thought one of mine was long enough 14-15 months, but that was by the time it was finally paid out and of course it was a rather complexed case.

If your financial situation has worsened, let them know and send any evidence to prove this, such as for example a copy of a bank statement.
Just a thought but it may help.

I applied online for the card but they are saying that I called and requested to get the PPI added on as they do not sell it to you over the phone but I knwo I would never do this.

Many thanks for your advice I will get the letter started tomorrow, if you don't ask you don't get I guess and 2 1/2 years paying it must be some back payment.

You go for it, and yes your right, you must try.:beer:

You could if you do not get a good result from them, request a Subject Access Request (SAR), where they must supply everything requested on the SAR within 40 days, going back as far as 6 years.
This may be useful if your case was to go further with the FOS.

Here is the link page to the SAR template letter below, but there is a charge of £10 cheque or postal order for this request, however it may be worth it.;)

I have had nothing :mad: Me and Helnag are in the same boat both Welcome finance and have been waiting well over a year now. I dont even get monthly letters now saying im awaiting an adjudicator! My only finance problem now is Welcome finance i have resolved all the others, claimed back ppi and charges etc and negotiated settlements. My mortgage co wrote to me friday offering me a fab deal to go elsewhere by August (they are stopping doing private mortgages) so i really wanna move it will save me a fortune. No one will remortgage me with a decent rate while Welcome finance still haunt my credit report. I just want an idea of where i am in the queue they just say few months everytime i ring the FO.
