I think I might decorate my daughter's bedroom then put the rest in my holiday account (current balance £150). I already overpay my mortgage by £400 each month (until rates start going back up) so a trip to Butlins might be in order!! Haha!

Thank you for all the support and advice guys xxx
    Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
    Mortgage today = £161,690.76
    300 271 payments to go.
    House buyout fund £21,000/£40,000

    Hey everyone.

Well have done more letters progress - nil!

BOS - letter sent to Customer Service 27.04.09 as money still not been refunded (this is since September 2008) ; Letter to FOS advising money still not been refunded.

WF - ltr sent to local office on 01.05.09 and also letter send to FOS as they havent replied within 8 wks of their letter of 5th March when I returned their forms re the PPI.

Abbey National - letter sent to FOS 01.05.09 asking to investigate as they offered to refund £60 when they charged me £400 in bank charges....!

Halifax/BOS - letter sent 01.05.09 re PPI as they havent replied to me at all - also asked them for details of my previous loans which had PPI.

FP - ltr sent 1/5/09 asking them for an update as I have not received anything since they said loans.co.uk were dealing with this and not FP!

Black Horse ltr sent 27/3/09 - no reply yet

Still to write to..... RBS. Mint. Lloyds, Halifax, MBNA and Bank of Scotland re credit card charges / Direct Line re previous loan taken out with PPI.

Not getting anywhere fast with any of it and patience as they say is definately a virtue :rotfl:you usually find it in a woman never in a man but I think I am a man today!

    Hi everyone

Not posted for a while as nothing new to tell you. Finally got a letter from financial ombudsman upholding my claim against MBNA for miss-selling PPI they have said that i should receive all payments plus 8% interest and £200 compensation for time wasting. Its only taken since September 2007 so hopefully it shouldnt be too long now before I receive my money back. I spoke with the financial ombudsman assistant yesterday and they have said that I should receive a final notification this week and they will tell MBNA to pay up within 6-8 weeks. Is that normal and what happens if they dont pay up?

    Hi Kevin

    Good luck with the reclaiming.;)

I would check the terms and conds of the cancellation, I gather this is after the cooling period?

Every company vary with their cancellation terms, some will on cancellation take out a new loan without PPI, others do not, then if this is the case, the loan repayments should be lowered.

Either way, if its the right thing to do for you then also write to cancel.

    Good luck.;)

Have just logged on to CC account with EGG to see that the interest rate charged reads "unavailable". Can anyone tell me if they have had this before with EGG and what it means? Advice please:confused:

Hi can someone please help me I have just checked my Vanquis Visa statement and have just realized that I have been paying PPI on it that I never agreed to I have been getting charged it since Oct 06 when I called them today they said that I must have agreed to it when I called and asked to get it added on but the thing is I never get PPI on anything as my job is very secure so I feel I have no need to pay for it.

They have told me they will need to check there call list for the time I am meant to have called them to get it added on, what I need to know is should I wait till they call me back with the outcome of the phone call or should I write off to them too also if they come back and say I asked for it (which I know i never) can I request to hear a copy of the recording??

    Any help is much appreciated.
