    Hi Kafkaesque,

Here is timeline of letters received. Hope this will give some help/indication.

3/11/2011 - Letter from egg saying they had received my complaint. They said it would take 12 weeks and that I should hear by 25/1/2012. (It would have been 8weeks but FSA had allowed them to extend to 12weeks).

21/01/2011 - Letter from egg confirming complaint had been upheldd and that I would receive further correspondence in next 7 - 10 days, but that compensation would include refund of ppi, contractual interest + compensation interest @ 8%

1/2/2011 - Letter from moorgate loan servicing (egg had sold my loan to them in June 2011) stating that further to my recent communications with Egg, I can confirm your monthly payment has been amended to £92.49.

At this stage I had not received a letter from Egg and assumed that the reduction in my loan by a payment of £290 (I learned this figure later) was all that I would be getting. At the time altough saddened - an extra £20 a month in my bank was great - I had been paying £111 a month.

14/2/2011 - Received letter and the £3k check. I hope this gives you the answer you wanted.

Spot on, thanks for taking the time to reply :)

Okay, this is the short version of a long story. I've foolishly taken loans with HSBC since 2002 largely to consolidate existing borrowing on credit cards etc.
I've recently filled in three PPI Ombudsman claim forms for the three loans I have paperwork for and am aware of. However, HSBC have written back quoting that I am claiming for FIVE loan policies! They have included some more claim forms and instruct me to fill them out for the additional loans/PPI. As I was not aware of these loans, I rang to query them but I have been placed on hold (and cut off) so many times that I don't know how to proceed.
Is there any easy way to check if these loans are mine and, if so, when they were taken out?
Or should I just fill in the forms and write that I am claiming they were mis-sold on the same basis as the other PPI I have already complained about?
I don't want to hold up the claims I have already made unnecessarily and I know the Banks are not quick in replying to information requests.

Hi the extra loans will be yours it's your lucky day i had HSBC do this with me and tell me about an extra loan i had which i had forgotten about, they are required to do this under the fsa rules, fill all your forms in and get them into HSBC

The problem is that they are listed but there are no details (dates etc). Should I just omit these details from the claim form or try to investigate further?

    Thanks, by the way!
