    Hi Tracey,

Just spotted on your previous post that you've had 2 loans with First Plus - am I right in thinking that the first loan was paid off when you took out the second one?

    TBD.

Will look tomorrow Pixie-its more or less what i expected--working on a real complex double consilidated loan with PPi carry over (in another place) --which has to be done tonight--

But can you post your :

Date of change/new amnt to pay/new % from your last % change letter before this last info about the revised monthly pymnt

Thanks Turbo I know you must be busy and I REALLY appreciate your help :A . I think I have a letter somewhere for the rate change/amended payment I will pop home at lunch and have a look (hopefully I haven't chucked it but it's a possibility) anyway I've just been through my online banking statements and my payment has been the same for the last 4 months - £255.64. I am pretty much certain that the rate change was over a month ago and my payments were due to come down to around £238ish??? (can't remember exactly) However from the letter they have sent me regarding the PPI refund they are saying that the revised monthly payment is going from £255.64 to £198.70 due to the PPI cancellation - so where is my rate cut/decrease in payment??? I hope they are not trying to pull a fast one here.
  • Here goes this is information on statement:
    Date of Agreement: 12/03/08
Number of months of loan: 60 months
    1st payment: 01/05/08
    Original Loan amount: £10000.00
    Original Insurance Premium: £3014.18
    Interest rate per annum: 10.44%

    Interest on Insurance: 825.82
    INterest on PRincipal: 2739.80
    Insurance Principal: 3014.18
    Total before 1st payment = 16579.80

Payments are 276.33 per month including insurance - 11 payments made

    Letter says:

Having considered the available information, I am unable to establish that you were provided with sufficient details to be able to make an informed decision when you were recommended to buy this policy. I would like to offer you £712.16 as a refund, with interest of all the premiums you have paid for the insurance element of your loan.

I have arranged for the policy to be cancelled from your account and new loan agreements have been forwarded to you under seperate cover.

    Hi

    Quick summary:

'Started claim with cap one for credit card ppi - I have received a letter from them offering an amount as a gesture of goodwill which they will take off my outstanding amount' - (i am not happy with this amount and am going to send another letter requesting they increase their offer)

However, i would prefer them to send me a cheque - and not take the amount off my debt - as my debt is now with their dca and no longer with them do i stand any chance of this happening?

Anyone any advice if this is possible?

    Many thanks in advance x

i personally think as you owe them money they will take it off your balance, ( i may be wrong and if i am someone on here will be able to tell you) i would write back and tell them you are not happy with the amount they are offering and they may increase the offer good luck

Think i'll just try asking for them to improve the amount offered and request they send the payment direct to me, they can only say no i suppose!

    Worth a cheeky try! :p

    Hiya Tracey with pleasure

You know if you do require more of your information you can always send them a SAR (Subject access request) where you will find the template for this in the thread with details, but yes have a look through to see what you have, the agreement should be a good help in this case, good luck.;)

We look forward to hearing from you.

    Hi

I started off writing to the branch who ignored me (but apparently they were forwarding my correspondence on yeah right!), then i wrote to the Dunfermline address but then they set up the place in Manchester with a team just for the PPI compliants becuase there were so many. All the PPI stuff going to the Dunfermline address got forwarded to the Manchester address becuase all my correspondence in relation to it came from there and i sent it there. You will find they will just refer your complaint to the Manchester team so cut out the middle man and save time.

    Thanks
    Rosie

  • Yes you are correct in your thinking BigDog.

When I took out the second loan the PPI from the first was added onto the second one so I actually added alot more onto it that I had borrowed in the first place if that makes sense?

Thanks Di yes I will have a look am going to use the template for the PPI to send to the ones I have had loans out with PPI and change the wording a bit esp the bit at the bottom about the FSO as I kind of did it the wrong way round lol  I never think before I do something always after it?:D

Thanks again for your advice everyone and fingers crossed I get some good news hopefully.....?
