Hiya hun.
Hope your well, keep up your good work with these as well.:T
Now it seems to me they are stalling dealing this complaint, but hun if you do not get a response from them by 8 weeks, you will or should be eligible to move this forward to the FOS.
Blimey they don't know what they are doing do they ?
But yes I see what you mean, as FP do seem to have all the info.
Good luck and keep us posted and remember after the 8 weeks are up and you've not heard and they have not resolved your complaint, think about taking this to the FOS.;)

Hi Di,
Thanks for posting back to me so quickly.......
The letter from loans.co is saying that they will issue a response in 28 days, I take it that they mean from the date on their letter (19th March). This will make it 10 weeks from the date that I sent them the original letter!
Do you think that this is acceptable due to the fact that they are saying that the never got the original from FP?
Thanks0 -

Hiya hun and not a problem.
Right 10 weeks ??
Okay hun, now this is entirely up to you, if you feel you are happy to wait until then, because you may also be aware that these complaints are extortionately high with the FOS right now and it could be a while before they deal with it, so if your prepared to wait just another fortnight for a response and see what happens from there, its your choice, but of course you know then if you do not hear by then, its defo time to move this on to the FOS.
Hopefully it will be a good result, keep at them hun, fingers crossed and let us know.;)

Hello, ive typed up my first letter and was just wondering if anyone had anymore advice, basically i tried to remove my ppi a year after taking out my loan because my parents told me they would cover it if i run into difficulties. When in branch they told me i needed to apply for a new loan which was then rejected due to my credit rating having gone down, this kept me locked into the agreement and forced me to keep paying for the ppi (around £40pm). The initial loan was for £7000 from may 2005, and im sure the insurance was lumped on at the beginning of the loan aswell and interest added monthly for it but i dont know how to check this?
Does anyone know the address i send my first letter to aswell?? Thanks for any help.

Dear Sir or Madam,
Account number: [insert account number]
I purchased the above policy from you in [insert date] but now believe that I was mis-sold this policy for the following reasons :
This is due to the fact that I contacted you around a year after taking out the loan after realising i would not need the coverand you informed me that I could not cancel the policy unless i took out a new agreement which i was then told i was inelligable for due to credit rating reasons. As the FSA has now stated ‘no refund’ terms are considered unfair I would like my original cancellation request to be honored and any sums paid returned. At the time my loan should have been kept at the same interest rate and a new credit search should not have been performed as this meant i was effectively trapped in the agreement and forced to continue paying the monthly insurance premium.
Unless you can satisfactorily justify to me that the policy was fair and reasonable I am requesting a full refund of all premiums, and subsequent interest on these payments, that I have paid to date. As I believe I have been deprived of this money I also expect 8% statutory interest, the amount a court would award, to be added to each payment made.
I look forward to a full and prompt response to this letter and for the matter to be concluded within eight weeks or I shall be contacting the Financial Ombudsman to investigate my complaint.
Yours faithfully,

Hi all,
Just after a bit of advice....
I chased Barclays this morning about my outstanding claim for a PPi refund, and they sent the final letter to my old address in November. (I'd forgotton about it by then)
The lady on the phone today explained what it said to me, and will be sending a copy to me this week.
Anyway, they have refused my claim, and the reasons for this were the usual things I think. Apparently it appeared monthly on my statement, and I knew what it was, and I had requested it when I extended my oerdraft limit. (which I know I didn't.)
So, I need to go to the ombudsman, but is there a time limit for doing this from when they last wrote to me? They sent the letter to my old address - I haven't lived there for 2 years, and all correspondance before then came to my current address!96 items decluttered so far in 20130 -

Hi there hun
Its 6 months as from the final letter.
However, the FOS should take this into consideration due to your reason, give the FOS a ring and ask them, explain your situation:
http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/contact/index.html
And of course let them know that the company are now sending you a copy of the letter to your current address etc, I think this will be fine, any problems here let us know we shall try to work something out.
Good luck.;)

Thanks very much for your help, think I'm inside that limit, but I'll give them a bell to check anyway.
Thank you again. x96 items decluttered so far in 20130 -
Hmmmmmmm--we really need a current statement from them if you can get one with the balance before the refund & after so we can understand this--whats your latest rate increase/decrease date/amnt/% rate?
BTW--If you ask for a settlement figure, it will always be higher than the current balance, cos of the extra they add on to compensate for loss of contract (its in T & C's--Regs 2006 I think now-the Actuarial Method of working out a settle ment figure)
Ok so I've just phoned them - twice (they are so rubbish!) and my current balance is £15,526.88  which is AFTER the refund of £5310.34 has been applied to my account. I have asked what my balance was before the refund was applied but apparently they can't see the screen that shows this information so they are going to send me out a statement for the last month. Also my current interest rate is 11.5% and my new monthly payment is going to be £198.70 (add a few pence as they have taken £10 less this month - their mistake they tell me). So basically my settlement figure is going to be more than £15,526.88. I'm probably being really thick, (well I know I am as I am rubbish at Maths!!) but if I took the loan out for £17000 two and a half years ago and have paid £7,525.00 to date AND I have just had a refund applied to my account of £5,310.34 then how is my balance still over 15k??? I know the interest is high at 11/12% but I can't see how this is right? Or does the £5310.34 they have refunded not actually reduce the balance by that amount? Ah god I'm confused!!0
