    Hi all

Have done a search but cant seem to find the address for Bank of Scotland to send my PPI reclaim letter to, does anybody know what it is?

    Thanks in advance
on rbs website it asks you to send your complaint to your local branch where the account is held, hopefully someone on this site will maybe have another address, if they have put a complaint in with rbs, good luck with this and keep us posted

  • Hello to you all... I'm new and could do with some help!
I sent a letter to Barclaycard back in 2007 to reclaim PPI as I had applied for a credit card when I was a student (at college going to uni and not in permanent work) and I was also told that agreeing to the PPI would help with my application... I received a letter back from Barclaycard stating that they do not believe my policy was misold and to go to the FOS if I felt the need... so thats what I did Feb 2008 I put in my complaint with the FOS about Barclaycard and their miselling antics. Through 2008 I phoned the FOS on a number of occassions to chase my complaint but I was told there was a high volume of complaints they were dealing with- so I queried whether I could cancel the PPI as it seemed to be costing me so much and I could get it cheaper- the FOS advisor told me that it was best to carry on paying it as it may effect a future claim- OK I thought fair enough. Anyway as the months went by I mean a year (Feb 2009) I thought I would chase my complaint with the FOS only to be told yep keep paying your PPI and you are still in a queue! March 2009 arrives and I think right I have had enough of this, phone the FOS who say my complaint has been passed on to ajudication (finally); so I'm put through to ajudication who tell me that my complaint has only just arrived with them so yet more waiting! I moan, yet again, but I'm still paying this PPI and then I get told I don't have to pay it and it won't effect my complaint / future claim! So I complain about the FOS and I'm apologised to for the wrong information I was given (on more than one occassion; 3 of which I can remember clearly!) and I'm told that I can take this further if my Barclaycard complaint isn't upheld...
This morning arrives and I recieve a letter from the FOS stating; 'following our intervention Baclays Bank PLC has told me that it wishes to offer to settle your complaint on what it describes as a goodwill basis and without any admission of liability'. If I agree my PPI policy will be cancelled, Barclays will refund the PPI and refund any interest or charges in respect of the premiums bla bla bla. Which works out about £500 (to my calculations). Now further on in the letter it states that the FOS has not considered my complaint and an ombudsman may award a higher or lower amount depending on the outcome of his investigation.
So I'm stuck do I accept the offer of goodwill and no liability even though I firmly believe that Barclays were in the wrong?; giving a credit card with PPI to a student (someone who was about to get into massive debt as a result of going to uni) and who didn't have a secure income!
    I eagerly await your replies!
    Thankyou in advance

  • Today I received a letter from WF asking me to complete a form and reasons why I feel I have been mis-sold etc etc so basically completed this and sent it back.

Also got letter from Halifax re loan saying they will reply within 8 wks?

Re FP.......checked my loan docs and first loan was thru Loans.co.uk but second loan was with FP for the top up and I noticed on the form they sent me the application form they returned it asking me to please tick for the PPI and this had a circle round it. So From what I remember I definately felt pushed into applying for the PPI and when I have looked at the letters I sent to the FSO (yep run before I walk!!!) I noticed I put on the forms with them that I had definately not received the correct amount of premium back from the first to the second.....confused I know I am! :j

Also noticed I had a loan with Direct Line in 2005 (this has been paid) and also Black Horse (also settled) in 2005 again with PPI do you think I should try and reclaim this back too? Have all the original paperwork too.

Just thinking about it as the more PPI I can get back the better financial position it would be for us.....defo.:rotfl:

Just thought I would update .....also got a DMP with a financial company who I have opened a bank account with and I never get bank charges woo hoo the Abbey are a nightmare I cancelled a dd and the company tried to take it 3 times I had 2 dds and this resulted in over £300 worth of bank charges was gutted the Abbey would not entertain me so I wrote them a stinker of a letter am in the right job I fear.....work for solicitors lol :T

Anyway thanks for your help so far....and hope I get some good news soon

    Hi hun
Bless you after all this time...... .

I would be inclined to request for a distress payment as well at either £200 or £250 something like that for all the messing about in this matter, and of course because you were advised to keep the ppi going as it would affect your future claim.

See what the FOS say about this hun if you want to, many do request for this in this situation or in similar situations.

You do have a good reason where this should be upheld, going by what I read on your post and believe it will be upheld if you want this to go on for further investigation.

If you think there was a lot more money involved there then in "my opinion" I would take it further, but it really is your choice, maybe if they also awarded a distress payment on top, that would make it up.

Good luck hun and this is my personal opinion only.;)
