Wow, you really do give me hope. It's sooo daunting, especially for someone who is just starting out and realising how much they've been stitched up. I'm always worried that by making any complaint I'll end up on the wrong side of the bank and they will make life impossible for me. I've got enough sleepless nights already!
I opened my HSBC account at my local branch - is that the best place to go to ask for a copy of the agreement and is there anything else I should ask for initially?

any paperwork relating to your loans and showing details i.e account numbers, ppi payments, dates etc don't worry about being on the wrong side of the bank the fos and fsa would take a very dim view of that.

Thank you for that. I have every single Mastercard bill they sent me so have a record of 10 years worth of PPI payments which hopefully might help. I'll go and ask for the original agreement and take it from there. Thanks so much for the advice, I'll post as soon as I get any info or response.

Woof! Thanks Amersall. And the name's Kuffs! (I used to get teased at secondary school for my ridiculously long shirt sleeves-a bit like Harry Hill's high collars!) Kruffs sounds a bit like a certain famous dog show! ;)
I'll have a bash at the link.
