    Hi all,

Such a long thread - I've had a look but I couldn't find a solution to my specific issue.

I took out a loan with Lombard back in 2005, which closed in 2010. I no longer have the paperwork but have the account number.

So I've sent the template letter requesting a copy of the credit agreement under sections 77-79 of the consumer credit act but they're sent a letter saying that as the account is closed they're not complying with my request.

I can make a Subject Access request under the DPA for £10. Is this standard practice? Are they trying to fob me off?!

    Any help much appreciated.

P.S. for all those people that are still sitting on the fence with PPI, DO IT. My girlfriend received almost £3k from her bank after complaining.

Hi gable unfortunately they are allowed to do this as the account is closed but they cannot get out of a sar request, they have 40 days to comply and they must comply under the dpa 1998 which to you and i is the data protection act 1998 if they don't you can report them to the independent commissioners office for non compliance, see link below for template sar letter if you don't already have one.

If you know you had ppi on this loan and believe you were mis sold, look here for reasons for mis sell
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance#step2

If any/all apply to you then put a claim in,you only need the account number.
If you are not sure you had ppi then do the SAR as cappo suggested.

OK. Found out the person who logged the call only filed a complaint on the 2 accounts they processed. So I proceeded to regsiter a complaint on the secured Loan and credit card. I have left out the mortgage as I haven't got a clue whether and how a PPi can and may have been added to the mortgage. As soon as I can work out grounds for complaint about the mortgage account, i will do so, but for, I simply don't know my rights on that one.

Thanks for letting me know, keep me updated.

If you post the mortgage ppi question here
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=187
The guys and gals on there have more knowledge regarding mortgage ppi, they will help you more.
